How a couple can earn 186,875 Avios if they are new to Amex – single person

Hi there

Regarding the item covered above. My wife and I had started this process. However since we started, my wife has dropped her hours, hence is earning less than the required salary to sign up. First of all is this checked and has to be 100% accurate? Secondly, if it is, and my wife is unable to get these cards. Is there away that I can move through this process by starting with nectar then gold/platinum etc and still get the sign up bonus. I currently have the nectar card, and hope to either move to plat or gold. Can I get the welcome bonus in either of these if I simply cancel the nectar and open up the gold/plat? Thanks
