Forums Payment cards American Express Hyatt cashback on prepay during current offer

  • 20 posts

Re the current incarnation of £100 back on £250 spend, has anyone not had the cashback trigger on an advance purchase rate via Hyatt.com?

Looking at a couple of nights on a‘members save more + breakfast’ that comes in at about £300 and with the cashback would be a real steal.

Otherwise booking the flexible rate with breakfast basically eats up the entire cashback value. I’ve never really used Hyatt before so no idea if booking online actually gets processed at the hotels or centrally.

It depends on the property, I’ve had one post on 2 cards, but another where they sent me a pre-payment form which didn’t accept Amex!

As above …. 90% chance it works, 10% it doesn’t. The 10% will be because the hotel owner consolidates pre-payments for a few hotels they own via their head office, or because the 3rd party they use to pre-pay doesn’t take Amex (this is rare but does happen, as noted above).

Thanks both – guess I’ll give it a go and cross my fingers!

Would it be the same for Hilton? Have the Amex offer which expires before check in. Made a booking via Emyr for Conrad in the US. If I asked them to part prepay, how much would I have to pay in US$ approximately to convert to £300 to trigger the £75 cashback offer. Thank you
