IHG Credit Card reward night – can husband use?

We have an IHG credit card reward night, and I have booked a night at the Crowne Plaza Kings Cross for us and our son

But I may not be there! I’ve added hubby as a named guest, can he check in without me? I know technically it isn’t transferrable, but how closely do they look?

I’ve made at least a dozen IHG redemptions for family members. Make sure their name is on the booking. Never had a problem.
