Always been pretty quick for me but can obviously depend on time of day.

There are other apps like Lyft available as well.

    Lyft also gives Hilton points.

Yellow taxis remain fixed price JFK-Manhattan each way. Usually undercut the apps. However you have to endure the scamminess of the drivers. Maybe I have been unlucky but 3/3 times this year I’ve had the driver try to scam me as if I didn’t understand the concept of fixed price. I have just given up and gone back to the apps for less stress.

Note that at present pick up is unavailable at JFK T4, T7 and one other terminal (maybe 5). The apps advise taking the Air Train to Howard Beach station and picking a car up there. Ignore that advice; instead if arriving at an affected terminal, take the Air Train to T8 or T1.

It’s darn expensive too. Currently $105 for UberX and $129 for Comfort to midtown.

There is supposed to be an Uber Shuttle for $25 every half hour from T4 and T5 but I’ve just looked and there’s no schedule listed any more, so maybe they’ve suspended it.

Other shared shuttles are available from $32 if you google them

All the answers are there apart from the tolls. Expect to pay $70 + $30-40 in tolls and tips now for a yellow cab

Wow. $11.80 for the Airtrain and the Subway suits me.

Depends how much luggage you have. I really can’t be bothered moving my over large suitcase and carry on around all the escalators and gates and then having to get from Penn to my hotel by foot/cab so I’m going for a door to door shuttle this time at $32.

I have done airtrain and subway many times but I was younger and more lightly loaded.

Agree with davefl. Additionally the NYC MTA system is sadly filled with people one would want to be able to make a quick getaway from for one reason or another. Having luggage in tow prevents that so I never use MTA services with anything heavier than a shoulder bag.
