Kenya Airways flights with Virgin Points

Looking to book Kenyan airways flights NBO to MRU, Virgin shoes reward availability but it disappears once you get to the payment page. Is this a known issue? Anyone found a work around?

Unfortunately virgin seem to offer seats that they don’t actually have access to, so when you get to payment you get an error message of some sort.

I was trying to book KLM/Air France from LHR to JNB as they were showing reward seats that were significantly cheaper than virgins own flights however I ran into the same issue.

I called virgin who also couldn’t see or book the seats even though they were advertised on the website. Apparently their partner airlines don’t offer any sort of set numbers of seats in each cabin or provide any timescales for when if at all they will release them to virgin. And their websites/booking availability clearly don’t talk to each-other hence they show seats they can’t actually offer.

So from my experience the partner airline reward seats are a bit of a dud.
