Hi all
Looking to go to Maldives in November.
200k Avios
150k Amex Rewards
100k HSBC rewards
2-4-1 Amex Voucher
Just wondered what you’d recommend as best way to travel there.
BA is sold out direct. Could fly to India, limited availability, but possible. Then fly Cash fair on IndiGo.
Qatar is 260k + £800
Any other suggestions, please. Thanks
Use the 241 to DOH, then it’s about 5 hours from there on QR which is very doable in economy?
Otherwise, do Amex points convert to Emirates?
Another option to consider is to fly to Bahrain – plenty of availability.
But direct flights from there to Male are expensive. Either book one stop or you can redeem using Etihad or Aeroplan miles.
I was thinking of flying closer to the Maldives, it’s still fairly fair from Doha and Bahrain, no?

Yep, BLR is probably the closest you can get to via BA and fly out direct to MLE.
QR might fly to CMB, but you won’t be able to use the voucher.
Any other FF schemes with flights to India? At a reasonable amount.
I mentioned the cost in Qatar Airways, which seemed a bit much
You might find BA to BOM connects better outbound and is a similar flight time.
Virgin also fly to BOM and BLR. No idea how well they connect to the Indigo flights.
There is a recent-ish follow up on a post about Maldives via India which you should easily find.
