Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club NinetyThird winning auction prices

  • 225 posts

I am trying to gauge whether to buy regular tickets for a show at the O2 or wait for the Qatar NinetyThird auction and try to win tickets that way. Is anyone willing to share prices at which they have won tickets for the NinetyThird (and which shows they were for)?

Some of the auctions seem to go for mid to high twenties. There’s a Pulp gig ending tonight which is on 82,000 avios and I feel you could fly quite a long way to see Pulp for that.

I don’t think it’s possible to accurately predict what a particular act might go for but good luck.

What’s frustrating is that because of the closing time (very late) no-one is ever up to see what happens last minute and they never publish the winning bids. With Marriott the listing stays up.

At least it’s midnight. I don’t really understand why Hilton have chosen to end auctions for Wembley football games at 4 in the morning.

I agree that it’s annoying that you can’t see what the Qatar auctions go for. As an amateur watcher, I’d say they often don’t change that much in the last half hour.

…And then there’s me :). (Fast Asleep when the auction closes btw.)

Some winning bids from early 2024.

    Jason Derulo 19,000
    Ne-Yo 33,000
    Michael McIntyre 34,000
    Michael McIntyre 66,000
    Hans Zimmer 86,000

Not sure how relevant these are now as the auctions seem more popular recently. Prices seem to fluctuate wildly depending on artist and day of the week. I have noticed Friday/Saturday nights (as you would expect)seem to go for a lot more than mid week.

Lionel Richie just went for 81,000

I got Rauw Alejando for 17/06/2025 for 23,100

I have been to the other O2 lounges but it will be my first time at the NinetyThird.

Thank you to those who have shared winning bids.

Oh wow, Kylie was a bargain… I can’t believe I spent 80,000 avios to see Lauryn Hill back in October…

Thank you R2, excellent data points! I saw The Killers last summer for 44k Avios.

Do they still do the £400 dining voucher? If so, those low winning bids are great value night out even if you don’t like the show!

Yes you still get a £400 dining voucher. Presumably this is portable and can be used in the different bars and restaurants in the ninetythird.

I thought someone was going to get a bargain as there didn’t seem much interest in Nine Inch Nails, what with them being perhaps the most inappropriate act to see from a glitzy private members bar, but there was fierce bidding late on (you would expect their fans to be up late) and I think the package went for 48,000 avios.

Great info – thanks again, especially @R2!!

FYI. My review of the lounge posted in the comments: https://www.headforpoints.com/2024/03/21/avios-redemptions-o2-400-food-and-drink/

(If you want to go to the AMEX invites lounge before, just show your suite ticket – no need to get the separate AMEX invites lounge ticket).

Does anyone know if the booker needs to be one of the two people who attends the concert?
So am I able to use my Avios to book for two friends instead?
