This might be worth a look
At present, you can get BA Silver equivalent on Oman with two business class returns Europe-South East Asia, as it’s 200 points per sector plus a further 100 for every USD1k spent on Oman.
1100 gets that top tier status – Sinbad Gold. Family pooling of miles is also an option.
From 30th June they join one world. I can’t see anything about changes in earn rates off the back of that.
Sinbad only has two status tiers, and OneWorld has three. I would not be certain that Sinbad Silver would equal OneWorld Sapphire (BA Silver).
Currently you cannot earn TPs with partner airlines at all if I understand it correctly, it’s anybody’s guess how partner credits might work.
Definitely one to watch from month end.
According to an email sent by Oman Air to existing members:
Sindbad Silver will be oneworld Ruby
Sindbad Gold will be oneworld Sapphire
There will be no oneworld Emerald status for the moment, even though WY has had 5 years to plan for it.
Also people with existing bookings with flights on WY may get reticketed for some reason to do with OW integration, so if you have one, check again that you still have a valid ticket number a few days before the flight – I think it is flights that connect to or from other OW carriers that are impacted, although I’m not entirely sure what the issue is.

To confirm, the example I gave was to obtain BA Silver equivalent, i.e. Sinbad gold.
Hi, if I book a flight before they join, but for travel at a later date (I.e. after 30 June) will I earn any avios from my booking? Thanks.

Yes, you should be able to add any oneworld FFP (including those which use avios as their currency) to your booking after Oman Air joins, or at the latest, when you check in for the flight.

Grief, I should learn to read properly 🙄 … if it stays that way it’s a potentially easy way to get status.
Morning. Wondering whether there’s any chat about Oman Air adopting avios, and if so what the conversion rate from Sindbad points may be?
Not adopting Avios AFAIK.
We have been invited down to Muscat next week to celebrate the integration so, if we can make it, we should learn more about what’s going on.
Hi, any news on if avios flights will be available from Monday? Thanks.
Not adopting Avios AFAIK.
For some reason I had it in my mind that because WY were being sponsored into OW by QR they would be adopting Avios so orphan Sinbad points could be converted.
I have no idea where that came from but I’m confident I didn’t make that up. Not creative enough.
