Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Pro-active online upgrade Business -> First Dubai A380

Interesting find today; I’ve been offered a POUG for my J day flight to DXB later this month, one way only unfortunately, at a cost of £559. Interestingly, I booked the seat using a Barclays upgrade voucher – so I’m slightly surprised that the upgrade offer is available to me. I’m trying to determine if it’s a good deal, on the face of the ticket pricing it seems good value + on an A380 we have the old club world.

My wife and daughter are travelling in J but didn’t get the upgrade offer; I’m wondering if FA on the flight will allow wife and I to swap half way through (to give my wife a break from our two year old :D).

    Deal or no deal?

Do you mean upgrade J to F? I don’t think I’d pay that for a 7-hour flight, tbh. Have you selected your J seats? We were on the upper deck on that flight last month and it was extremely quiet and private – especially 53A where I was sitting.

However, you could maximise the upgrade by guesting your wife into the CCR, hopefully they would let the little one in with you!

if you are going to give your wife the F seat (if you get it) then swap at the begining.

Cabin Crew are happy for it to happen then but half way through is too disruptive.

@buzzmonkey it’s never wrong to go in F even for a shortish flight; it’s just an entirely better experience, particular on BA where Club is still sub par. Only thing is that, if it were my household at least, you will be in Club with the two year old! You will earn countless brownie points though.

Half way through isn’t disruptive at all if done discreetly 🙂
