QA Refund Voucher

Maybe I need to learn how to google better, however was hoping someone might have a straight answer for me.

I’ve had to cancel an upcoming flight via QA, I opted for a voucher instead of a refund to card minus fee’s, as I can certainly make use of the credit again.

Does anyone know if I need to both use the voucher (EMD) and fly within the 1 year period? Or if I can book shortly before the void date to extend the life of the voucher even further?

I don’t see anywhere Qatar mention that flight also needs to take place within the same time-frame, just wanted to avoid a potentially silly and costly mistake.
