Forums Frequent flyer programs Other frequent flyer schemes QR booking – change FF to BA

    Hey HfP-ers

I’ve booked a QR avios flight from HKT-LHR via DOH. When booking I wasn’t given the chance to change the FF no and only my QR membership was shown. Is there a chance to change the FF no to BA with which I have emerald status? How do I do that? I’ve been trying to but can’t see it anywhere.

Am I also right in thinking that reward seats can be cancelled for free if I’m Emerald?

    Thanks

Did you book it via QR? If so, their chat team will probably be able to do it.

I haven’t heard of the cancellation thing and not cancelled anything for a while myself. Is that supposed to be on QR only?

Although – I have flown on QR and just used my digital BA card for lounge access and so on. The chat team did tweak something so that I could choose seats for free, however.

I cancelled a reward flight 2 weeks ago, it’s still $25 for Emerald

Both QA Privilege Club Platinum & Gold are able to cancel award flights for free (having the 25 US dollar fee waived)
Or at least they could last time I cancelled such a booking in March this year.
I’ve not seen any information that removes this benefit but there was zero notification of the 5% rebate being removed for award bookings before it was withdrawn.

Yes, that’s what the fare conditions said. So what should I fo? Call up, tell them that I’m BA gold (even though I’m not able to change the QR FF number in my booking) so I can get the flights cancelled for free?

If you’re cancelling your booking better to speak with admin at whichever website you booked it on be that QR or BA.
