Qatar Airways reward booking booked via BA using Avios

So the other day I did LHR-DOH-BKK in business class on QR booked via BA website using avios (RBD U class , fare basis P) anyway for what ever reason I have received tier points and avios for these flights

Is this a common ? As a redemption ticket I wasn’t expecting anything

There hasn’t been any changes to my pnr

Was it standard points required to book, or one of the ones where it required double the normal number of Avios?

My husband got tier points and avios when travelling with me on a companion voucher. It was his first trip since joining EC so I wondered if it was a quirk of a new membership
