Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Return leg charge and ticket # issue

  • 25 posts

    Hey folks!
I did the 1am call to exec club last night to get my club return seat (HND-LHR)

I’ve been charged the Avios, but I’m yet to have a ticket issued or Amex charge (even as pending) – nor have I had email confirmation of a change

I did watch the availability go as the agent booked it for me, and I see the return leg in MMB – just wondered if it’s “secure”.

Should I have seen something by now? First time I’m booking a return leg at release time in the way.

    Thanks!

This is quite common in my experience. Payments taken over the phone sometimes seem to take considerably longer to process than online. I assume this was to add a return sector to an already booked outbound, in which case this might have to go to the fabled ‘back office’ to be processed manually. And if you at T-355 you will be at the bottom of the priority list.

I expect it will be ok and the Amex transaction will appear at some stage and the e-ticket will arrive soon. Their usual response is ‘call us back if there is still a problem’ without you really knowing how long it needs to be to become a problem.

As long as you see the return leg in MMB then there is nothing to worry about (well, until check in. I’d call about 3 days before). In my experience things have been pretty quick lately with manual ticketing so you’ll likely see the charge in the next few days.

After a week your CVV will drop out so when they are ready to process the payment you’ll get a mail asking you to contact them so they can take it again.

Ah perfect! You both were right, the charge and email has now been issues.
Phew! Was worrying as I saw some AM flights still available and didn’t know if i should call 😀

    Thanks!
