My Mum is sharing her Avios, she’s already shared 27000 to my BAEC but I also have a Qatar Privilege account. She tried to share another 27000 to me using the Qatar account number but the transaction failed – is it possible to do this as the gifting fees are extortionate!
Don’t think this is possible. You can do 27,000 via Iberia Plus though.
The snag here is that, to move Avios into Iberia from BA, you both need Iberia accounts which are ‘active’ (90 days old and earned 1 Avios) which may be tricky. Moving Amex points to Iberia is the easiest way to get around the ‘activation’ hurdle.
What about the add her to your HHA idea when you send some avios to QR (which would come in proportion from both accounts) which when you pull them back will go 100% into your account?
