Their IG says closing 1st July until 2023 for renovation and will no longer be part of Marriott.
Doesn’t say what it will be – any guesses?
Hilton and Hyatt could both do with some properties.Curio collection?
No idea but did find
Spain’s largest lender, Banco Santander, and London-based Signal Capital Partners have completed the acquisition of the 284-room Sheraton La Caleta Resort & Spa in Tenerife, in Spain’s Canary Islands, from Tenerife-based energy company Grupo Disa, for €80 million (€282,000 per room). The luxury complex was acquired through the 2021-launched JV fund Signal Santander European Hospitality. Last year, the pair had each committed €100 million to the fund, with the La Caleta being the first investment in this new partnership. The five-star resort is managed by Marriott and includes four restaurants, two bars, a spa and entertainment facilities.
Could be Sheraton deflag and perhaps awaiting a deal to reflag under another Marriott brand?
Closing for the summer seems strange though.

It’s one of those hotels where the guests and management both seem to know it’s well overpriced for what it is, but everyone just puts up with it because big chain options are scant in the Canaries.

I don’t think Tenerife is massively seasonal. Weather is pleasant year-round – if anything the contrast to European weather is greatest in the winter.
