Hi
Tier point year ended 8th Jan. ended on 315 so well short of the 600 to retain. Have been silver for the last 4 years.
Just got an email saying I have silver for another year. check my account and my silver status has indeed been renewed til 8th Jan 2025.
The question is… why? I should be downgraded to bronze from 28th Feb. Do they do discretionary extensions for people who have been silver for several years?
I’m not complaining. actually its quite clever of BA as I was looking elsewhere for some flights later in the year, but will now keep my business with oneworld.
Interesting – I got that email too, but have firmly requalified.
Was actually complaining in the daily thread about the wording in the email! 🙂
Interesting – if this continues each month I may be cancelling a few BA Holidays!
Though – I vaguely remember something being written last year about people automatically re-qualifying if the membership year fell within a few months near the year end so maybe they’ve done that again?
Had similar email to Spoonfork, on 31/8/23 when I had fallen well short of tier point target in the year and shouldn’t have retained Silver.
On 1/10/23 received another email headed “An update on your membership” telling me I was now bronze!
I’d book any planned trips quickly and get those free seat bookings in jic!!
Hopefully year end timing issue mentioned by Northern Lass will apply. 🤞
