Forums Other Destination advice Singapore trip report with a side-order of Hong Kong by Froggee (paterfamilias)

Gosh this ones’s a blast from the past. We’ve been back to Singapore (and Hong Kong) since!

Weirdly Kermit would happily eat Octopus. He loves his seafood. I still remember his opinion of muscles – “it looks disgusting but tastes yummy”

Moi a travel writer? An Idiot Abroad has already been done I’m afraid. Lolz.

I didn’t see enough of Jill. I think I wanted to rugby tackle Tim from Malaysian Airlines. Poor priorities I know.

I thought initially this was the 2025 trip report but quickly realised it’s the blast from the past 2024 TR. Keep meaning to read the latest Portuguese adventure but haven’t got around to it.

    Re this

I think there’s a typo – I am hoping you mean mussels? I don’t like mussels or octopus but really wouldn’t want to try muscles of any sort. Sad / bemused face.

A typo from @Froggee? I’m sure that’s a first and a last, screenshot taken for posterity.

There have been many @strickers !

But as long as it isn’t @JDB pointing it out then all good.

And I just checked and I consistently got it wrong in the Tenerife trip report. Just another reason why I’m not cut out to be a travel journalist.

    Sad face.

Huh? Muscles are just regular meat

@John I truly did not know that. Every day is a school day.

    Has Kermit tried durian?
Now that makes me crave for durian!

@BBbetter after conferring with Mrs Froggee: short answer = no.

Long answer: a great uncle got it for the boys to try (when he failed to find Kermit’s beloved soursop which was out of season). They both poked it and sniffed at it but neither was willing to commit.

I cannot blame them. I would be fascinated to know if there is a direct correlation between liking stinky cheeses and liking durian but sadly science doesn’t seem to take on important challenges like this.
