Has anyone ever booked a hotel via “The Vacation Collection” offering?
Are these bookings considered elite qualifying?
For context, I am referring to this program: https://www.americanexpress.com/icc/cards/benefits/travel/the-vacation-collection.html

Updating for the greater good:
The hotel in question is a Marriott-affiliated “Luxury Collection” property. I received an official response that the stay will not be elite qualifying, although I will be able to register my Bonvoy number and any incidentals charged to the room will earn points.
I did end up making the booking, as The Vacation Collection all-in total for the 2-night stay was about 88.5 EUR lower than the Marriott STARS rate (both programs offer an upgrade, early check-in, and late check-out upon availability, as well as a special property amenity — $100 credit via STARS and a spa therapy via The Vacation Collection).
I’m not chasing Bonvoy status or points, so the savings was preferable.
Also of note to those with access to the program via an ICC Platinum: Amex allowed me to charge in USD instead of GBP, saving the 3% FX fee (although the converted USD amount was about 1.4% higher than the GBP price, still better than the 3% fee)

Is this service still available? Seems to have vanished from the Amex site.

Are you looking at UK Amex site ?
OP specified international Platinum card, and the use of the word “Vacation” suggests a non-UK audience so I wouldn’t expect to find it as a benefit on my UK Amex Plat.

OP here. Well, the ICC cards are issued and serviced by Amex UK, so I would be surprised to learn that the Vacation Collection isn’t offered to “regular” UK cardmembers.
Although it may not be explicitly advertised as a UK Platinum benefit (I haven’t actually looked myself), it wouldn’t surprise me if the concierge/Amex Travel dept. could still book it for you.
Well, so much for this thread. It appears that this has been pulled as a benefit and no longer exists. I was on the fence about renewing, but this will probably place me firmly in the ‘cancel’ end of the spectrum now. The program had some great deals on properties that were relevant to me, what a shame.
