We’re just back from 2 weeks in Mauritius and thought I’d share a couple of things:

We were in Club World which was still the old Club seat – seemed to be in pretty good shape however. Masks were optional in both directions which was a pleasant surprise!

Needed to wear masks in the Airport in Mauritius, but beyond that, there aren’t any other rules unless you decide to go on public transport. Some of the hotel staff were still wearing masks, but it’s probably 60/40 for those who do / don’t.

Rhys was there the other week albeit we’re holding back his articles for a couple of weeks. They are more chilled now than when we went in May, luckily. The requirement for compulsory arrival testing as late as May must have been costing them dearly.

They’re definitely more relaxed, but the locals are still worried about covid somewhat. There were no Covid checks of any sort at the airport or hotels – as you say it must have cost them a fortune!

Late for this thread I know but Mauritius still require masks in the terminal and on transport to/from the airport. BA pulled the requirement for masks on flights to/from Mauritius a few days ago. We go in two weeks so will just have one ready for the arrival terminal.
