This year my spend on BAPP will go right to the wire to see if I trigger the 241. I am prepared to make a bigger purchase if needed. But how close to the deadline can this go? For example if I am told “spend £1000 by 6 Dec to get voucher” can I spend the £1k on the 6th and it process in time to go towards the spend.
I hope that made sense!
Thanks.
Risking it. Buying in store where they charge the card immediately will show as a transaction on that date therefore meet the spend. Buying online is another matter, many retailers may hold the amount but not actually charge the card until they dispatch some days later, which may be too late for your needs.
Personally, I’d follow some of the tips here:

I would give it at least 3 clear days, especially if there’s a weekend involved. Some retailers charge immediately but many don’t. Probably a bit of an outlier but I had a prepaid hotel booking and it was over a week before they charged my card!
