I can see a flight on virgin’s site which is codeshared with BA. The flight is operated by BA along the entire route (two separate flights).
I want to upgrade an economy classic ticket to upper class using virgin miles by buying through an agent using the virgin fare.
Can I elect to receive avios and tier points through BA rather than virgin, although I will book the flight through virgin and upgrade with virgin points. If I upgrade with virgin, can it still look like a BA booking where I earn upper class tier/avios?
I already realise it sounds like a silly question with a bleeding obvious answer, but if you don’t ask …
What’s the route and flight numbers?
it was seen on man to bgi yesterday on virginatlantic site
it’s now not available
VS do have the right to sell BA, but they usually only do so when either required (e.g. cancellation) or because they need to connect you from the regions to LHR. If you were to buy a BA flight via VS (or any other line), you can double dip on the mileage, but you might find the calculations are a bit odd because the fare codes you’re booked in to may not be the ones BA sell via retail.
