We have 60k miles and a voucher we are both silver
The route we were looking at is 195k one way in upper
What is the amount of miles needed is it 240k plus the voucher
or 45k plus the voucher
is the 150k deducted, each or between?
What’s the points for the class you want to book before the upgrade?
It should be those points, plus the points difference. The voucher will cover up to 150k of the points difference, you would need to cover the remainder if it’s more.
My understanding is you would need 240,000 miles plus the voucher.
195,000 miles for Player A and then 45,000 miles plus the companion voucher for Player B.
so the 150k is only deducted for one person one way ..right thanks
didnt realise its so poor now
Yes. It isn’t so much that the voucher is poor as the dynamic prices are crazy nuts bonkers flying west to east.
Keep an eye on prices as they can change dramatically but if you don’t have flexibility on dates and want to get flights locked down then basically it sucks.

It’s 150k for one person. You can book a return on the same ticket if you have enough points.
This program is useless if you want to travel peak dates. On the other hand for those who have flexibility…
If you don’t have much flexibility, I think I’d go for the 16.5k points in PE option (using the voucher if it would otherwise expire), and save some points for another trip.
However, you might want to avoid a potential £70 pp change fee and hedge your bets on a better UC price appearing, though obviously you risk not getting seats at all! Other readers tracking points prices have noted that they can change as many as 3 times in a day.
Maybe I haven’t understood this thread correctly, but my understanding is a single voucher can be used for one of the following:
Upgrade for one person on a return flight, maxing out at 75/150k points according to status.
Upgrade for two people on one-way flights, maxing out at 75/150k points for both people, according to status.
A companion ticket against a point or cash return flight, or two one-way flights, maxing out at 75/150k points for the companion element, according to status.
I’ve recently used a single voucher for the “Upgrade for two people on one-way flights” scenario (SFO-LHR, upgrade both of us from economy to premium).
