Hi all,
I’ll be flying out of LHR T2 in about a month’s time and noticed that with Priority Pass I can access either Plaza Premium or No1 lounges.
I’m planning to get to the lounge around 2pm on Wednesday (June 11th) — does anyone know how likely it is to get walk-in access to Plaza Premium at that time?
Would I be better off pre-booking the No1 instead? I don’t see an option to pre-book Plaza Premium.
Thanks so much!
I was in No1 at 10am last Wed and had no issue getting in.
Both are windowless. No1 is currently quieter as brand new. Food definitely better in No1. Plaza is bigger, and if you were settling in for a couple of hours I think No1 may get a bit claustraphobic. No1 is brand new. Not been in Plaza for a while.
I have a 11am flight on a Thursday next month and was just looking at Rhys’ recent review and he was saying food offerings weren’t that good. How bad is Plaza Premium? 😀
Saying that, we’ll probably have breakfast at the hotel (£50 amex cash back at the Hilton Garden in made it a no brainer compared to bus/taxi fares on top of cheaper Bath Rd hotels as the hotel priced at £200) and will only want a cuppa and bun before an approximate 1pm lunch on the plane. Unless of course breakfast at the hotel is really bad….!
I’m disappointed with Plaza Premium as a brand as I was first introduced to them in Hong Kong where they have a great offering. T5 was basic, but then I haven’t come across a paid lounge in the UK that offers tasty food. Most of the budget I think is spent on the booze aspect. I’d be happy to pay for drinks if they upped their food game. I don’t normally want at drink in the morning and flying long haul I tend to avoid it anyway.

Thank you for your reply. I think I’ll head to No1 then.
Still thinking about whether to prebook, plan to get at the lounge around 2pm. Does that tend to be a busy time?
Priority Pass says it is ‘likely’ but not very likely that it’s going to be busy on the app.
Thank you all!
I arrived at the T2 No 1 lounge two weeks last Wednesday at 4pm and whilst it was very busy (looked about 90+% occupancy), OH and I were granted entry as walk ins with Priority Passes (no prebooking) without any hesitation from the lounge dragon. It’s a long and thin space and overall a very compact lounge so I suggest you have a good walk around for a seat and don’t be afraid to politely ask someone if you can sit next to them, even if it requires them to move their belongings which they’ve spread over several seats! Best PP lounge experience I’ve had in ages, they’ve decorated it nicely and it feels cosy as opposed to claustrophobic (there are no windows).
