12th October 2024 at 13:56 in reply to: BA Silver – Lounge access when flying US domesticanirishgirl2022 52 posts
I am BA silver but for some reason this has not equated to one world sapphire on my AA boarding card- I’ve been silver since July and from before I booked my internal AA flight. Despite their best efforts at check in the ground staff wouldn’t overrule the baggage allowance it was saying I was one world RUBY but I did however get access to the lounge without any question. It’s early Saturday morning at JFK the lounge was pretty empty.
I had spent 3 hours on the phone back and forth to BA and AA and the BA agent just hung up when he said it was now resolved – clearly it hasn’t.anirishgirl2022 52 postsInteresting what you said as I am there today for 13:10 to Rhodes – absolutely rammed the south lounge and we just luckily found a seat after doing a couple of laps! What we did notice that once the gate was announced – it was “boarding” almost straight away – we were finishing up food and drinks so didn’t arrive to the gate until at least 10/15 mins later and the hadn’t commenced boarding yet .. so this is clearly a strategy to empty the lounge quickly. Much to our annoyance
anirishgirl2022 52 postsThanks for the advice I’ve booked now
anirishgirl2022 52 postsBrilliant thanks both!
anirishgirl2022 52 postsOk this is really helpful. My husband and I do favour trips to Africa. Will definitely need to educate myself on the programme.
Perhaps a weekend to visit family in Boston could be on the cards 😉
anirishgirl2022 52 postsWhoops I mean four flights in four months :/
anirishgirl2022 52 postsAh my misunderstanding I thought I could get tier points on that code share.
Not sure I’ll get four flights in two months but I’ll get two for sure!
Other options on this route include Jet Blue which I’ve read has no lounge and Delta any advice on which I should favour over these and United as I’m starting fresh?anirishgirl2022 52 postsThank you!! This is a great list of suggestions
29th October 2023 at 11:35 in reply to: BA Holidays double tier points offer – MASTER THREADanirishgirl2022 52 postsThanks @aja – hadnt realised it was working days – I’ll hang tight for now. Nope, no changes all as was the original booking – flight and car hire 👌🏻 thanks for the advice
29th October 2023 at 09:04 in reply to: BA Holidays double tier points offer – MASTER THREADanirishgirl2022 52 postsWe’re 14 days back from our BA holiday yesterday with original tier points credited after the flights but no double yet- is it worth chasing up? Or at what point do you chase? My calendar end is 8th nov I know they’re credited back to original date but still I’d just like to be sure they have.
26th October 2023 at 12:19 in reply to: BA lounge Schiphol, Amsterdam – what’s happening?anirishgirl2022 52 postsSo if you’re in club on return from AMS what lounge can you use currently?
23rd October 2023 at 11:40 in reply to: BA Holidays double tier points offer – MASTER THREADanirishgirl2022 52 postsHave you received your double tier points now?
I recently completed a BA Holidays Booking returned Mon/Tue, and whilst the normal Tier Points from the flights have credited I am still awaiting on the Bonus Tier Points. My collection year ends on 8th October and need these to credit to my 22/23 Tier Point collection year as this will advance me to BA Gold and do NOT want these credited to 23/24 collection year. They say these credit within 14 days of return but does it credit per the date of return flight or date of credit? I really need it to be the former
Is it possible to somehow make sure the Tier Points are awarded based on date of travel which would fall inside my 22/23 collection year?[/quote]anirishgirl2022 52 postsThanks all!
anirishgirl2022 52 postsThat’s fantastic- thank you both!! 🙂
So if you pay E.g 150,000 plus £500 (taxes) using 241 voucher they charge 15,000 avois for baby plus £50?
12th September 2023 at 14:36 in reply to: BA Holidays double tier points offer – MASTER THREADanirishgirl2022 52 postsOn my holiday booking to Crete (flight plus car hire) for 7 days – in the manage my booking section it says 40 tier points for the trip – tier point calculator LGW to HER is 40 points -am I right in assuming the manage my booking doesn’t include the double tier points as these are awarded afterwards or does the booking show the double? In peoples experience? Thanks
anirishgirl2022 52 postsAh I see now from previous points this is a known issue and that there is a glitch with the data information transfer from BA!! How annoying!
anirishgirl2022 52 postsGreat thank you!! I’ve signed up. How accurate is it? I’ve seen a flight on their return business 26th aug London to Antigua return 2nd sept and when I go to book it’s not there. I’ve also done the same with dates in late October to Cancun again not available when I go to book?
anirishgirl2022 52 postsBrilliant thanks so much!!
anirishgirl2022 52 postsThanks all so if you have unreserved seating do you just turn up early and hope for a seat?
