It will depend on the reason for the delay.

You can’t – I think the proposal is that when you earn a new voucher you’ll be given the choice.

Do you mean booking with avios? You might need to search for each leg separately as BA’s IT can’t always cope with multiple sector routes like this, especially if it involves multiple carriers.

Also there’s no issue with the “taxes” as you only get the RFS option with the BC voucher – so you need a lot of avios to use it for long haul.

You’ll need to make the outbound bookings with the *2* vouchers whether that’s online or by phone, then ask BA to add the inbound when they are released. *Don’t* use one voucher to book 2 of you outbound as they are only valid from the U.K. and won’t work on inbound flights from anywhere else.

The easiest thing would just be to call BA and have them book the whole thing for you, with the regional connections. You can’t ask for half the avios back, that just with the Amex voucher. BA can book you both on one PNR, though come to think of it I don’t actually know if you need to be in a HHA for this?

Using the card per se won’t be an issue, as longer as the lender accepts it.

@Tim – people who qualified or re-qualified under the reduced TP offer will still see the usual requirement in their account – so it took 450 TPs to attain or retain Silver but the system still thinks you need 600 and shows the deficit it “thinks” you have.

FOS seem to be making more work for themselves here given that due to Creation’s conduct and the subsequent 12 month wait for a response to an official complaint, few people, as pointed out above, are going to willingly go back to square one with no guarantee that Creation will find them eligible for anything!

I reached the reduced Tier Point threshold for BA Silver by the end of December, but my BA app still shows “60 more needed” to retain Silver. Is this normal? Or is something odd going on?

As long as you’ve changed to Silver there’s no problem. Mine shows I need 50 TPs but I hit Silver last October and it’s shown as such ever since.

I only used Curve for the £200 pm cash withdrawals and I don’t think anyone got closed down for that. It’s immaterial now, of course, but there must be a uniting factor somewhere!

You can’t really blame Curve, nobody was forced to use it. And it wasn’t just Curve, there were other providers involved, including Creation itself!
It’s been said many times that Creation could have just shut Curve transactions down, but they chose not to. And some underlying cards now charge fees, even for fronted usage. I’m not sure how long it can on, really.

I don’t know if it’s normal but I would have submitted 2 separate claims, one from your wife and one from her mother. It might be easier just to resubmit with their details than getting involved with POA!

I imagine the response will be due to EU/U.K. regs applying to the passenger and not to the person who paid for the flight, if different.

Finally admitted that there is a problem with my hearing, I need hearing aids in my mid 50s. Aside from discovering that certain well known companies are a bunch of thieves, I was at least able to earn a significant number of Avios because my local independent audiologist takes Amex! I now need to replace the phrase ‘Sorry, I didn’t hear you’ with ‘Sorry, the batteries must be flat’ when replying to Mrs S.

You would hope they’d look after you better than that 😩
Coincidentally I am in Anglesey this weekend and they seem to be doing training exercises at Valley which is fun to watch!

All that raving in the 80s and 90s!

@Roker you’re going to get yourself into a pickle if you’re not careful! There’s no “combining” of the out and inbound legs, if you book them separately you can request 50% of the avios back from the inbound booking but you’re still left with 2 PNRs.

If you book the inbound with a 2nd 241, that’s a new booking and the only way you’ll get the voucher back is by cancelling it (which will cost you £70 unless you do it within 24 hours).

You need to pick the same payment option on the inbound as you did on the outbound, so, e.g. if you pick the 3rd option outbound you need to pick the 3rd option on the inbound but it sounds as though you might not have enough avios to do this. BA has been refusing to refund the 50% avios to anyone who hasn’t stuck to this.
If I’ve got all this correct, it seems like your best option is to try & book your inbound seats by phone as soon as they are released.

    Anna

Yes, I took a small overnight bag as after all this was a BA domestic route 😂. Fortunately the worst that happened was that my inbound flight was delayed a couple of hours – which was much worse for the exhausted pax who were waiting to connect from long haul than it was for me!

I did this last October MAN-LHR-MAN. We disembarked at a remote (?) stand which meant having to show my boarding pass on the way back to T5 departures but no one said a thing even though the system must have known I was going there and back in a relatively short space of time.

Just seen the email but it’s too vague to respond to as it stands. I believe I am eligible for 2 free night vouchers due to when my card anniversary fell, but does Creation? I think I’ll have to reply asking for some clarity on this.

This happened to me with an old 241, weeks of chasing BA to no avail then finally asked FT helper as a last resort!

in reply to: Will we be ‘turned away’ at check In?
    Anna

With respect to the 2-4-1, simply check in online .. I do this twice a year with the voucher.

This is not always possible, especially if you have a domestic connection. Also if you had luggage to check they want to see passports/boarding passes so might ask questions at that point.

In all honesty you could have learned all that from this forum!

Have you looked in your statement in your BAEC account? There should be a line telling you what the deduction relates to. The avios transfer automatically from the BA Amexes though.

in reply to: Redeeming 2 x new AX 241 vouchers
    Anna

You can use 2 vouchers from the same account to book for 4 people on the same booking; I’m assuming it wouldn’t work for 3 the way you suggest as that would have to be done as 2 separate bookings. If the vouchers were earned by 2 separate account holders a 241 plus a 50% off would be possible, but on 2 Sep bookings.

in reply to: Non-operational First Cabin
    Anna

It’s known as Flub! First cabin with club service, it happens for example if BA is using a 4 class aircraft on a route which only offers 3 classes of ticket. Enjoy the extra space.
