********just lost another reply that disappeared completely on a captcha.

Sorry this is really really not good enough ****************

With longer replies, perhaps in the short term it might be an idea to type them out in notepad or some other text editor, and then copy & paste into the reply box?

That’s what I do, but not as sophisticated. I just copy everything into the clipboard before clicking “submit” and if it goes wrong I try again. Saved me a couple of posts already…

Seriously, why should we have to do this? The basic software should be fit for purpose.

It is just a workaround to keep your sanity until such time as it is permanently fixed.

How long does it take for the QR code voucher to come through?
Can you realistically make a spur of the moment decision when you randomly pass by a Cafe Nero and have the voucher ready for use 5 minutes later?

I’d email rob directly and immediately delete this thread (if it allows that?)

    Doesn’t work on a phone Aston100.

No I am not on Twitter.
I have an old neglected Flyertalk account, but it’s not as Lady London there. Known as LL in quite a few other places though.

This is a test message typed out on a notes app on my Android phone. Copy and pasted into hfp.

It isn’t just her that gets them.

As I suggested elsewhere, in the interim, maybe type replies into a text editor and then copy & paste into the reply box here.

Interesting. What would the domestic leg have normally cost?

    Knowledgeable about what though?
Lots of people on the forums appear to be very knowledgeable about a number of different things, some of which may or may not be directly related to miles & points.

That said, I’m fairly sure I read some time ago that Rob was thinking about getting assistance from some knowledgeable and/or long-term posters. Might have been to do with forum moderation possibly.

Got an email last week asking for more time, the same one everyone else is getting.
At the weekend I received a letter with the same date as the email, but this contains their final decision.
Left hand and right hand not in sync.

The letter is pretty much the same as everyone elses final decision letter, except mine initially acknowledges I was after the points I had earnt, but concludes by telling me I won’t be getting my £99 annual fee.
Odd thing is, I didn’t ask for the annual fee to be refunded because guess what? I had the white (fee free) card and they know it… Literally I had made no reference to an annual fee at any point.

    Bunch of clowns.

So it’s off to the FOS I go.
Can anyone confirm whether you can go to MCOL for something that may be viewed as intangible? The points must have a cash value since IHG sell them.

    Thanks.

in reply to: Retire the Daily Chat thread
    Aston100

I agree with several of the comments here.
I think a chat thread is still needed for miscellaneous comments that don’t need a whole discussion thread setup.
Whether it it be daily thread or a long continuous one until it hits x number of comments, or end of the month etc I am not fussed about at this time.

And like some others, I feel the decrease in the number of overall comments on this site may well be due to the lack of unimportant one liners or repeats of same old questions. It helps that the Creation Card debacle is on one dedicated thread; you know it would have led to countless repeated comments every day on the daily chat thread if these forums didn’t exist.

Good work with the forums so far, though a couple of features are still missing or need tuning, after which I would hope more people are enticed to come and post on the forums instead of still seeking the chat thread for everything.

Looking further into Bahrain and Qatar.
Will keep the Caribbean and Miami in mind too.

Oh, I think I forgot to add the 3rd adult to my friends & family / household account.
That’s probably why it didn’t work for me.

I wonder if they’ll extend ftv validity beyond September 23?

It still surprises me that IHG appear to have been ignoring the issue, especially in the current climate where I would have thought that hotel chains are desperate to recoup losses over the past couple of years due to the pandemic, and here are IHG potentially about to lose hundreds of what were their previously most loyal and active customers.

I will still remain an IHG hotels customer despite losing the use of my Creation card and the denial of points that I feel I rightfully earnt through it.
I don’t blame the card issues on IHG.

in reply to: Does BA actually answer the phone?
    Aston100

I called last Friday, Saturday and today and I got through every time. You do need to wait 20-30 min. Morning is usually very busy. However I was surprised that on Saturday I only waited for about 2 min.

    This is not normal.
I kid you not, in mid December I must have phoned 30 – 35 times in a few days before I finally managed to get through to someone and get my issue resolved before the 60 minute cut off.

I searched for Kimpton Intercontinental, it brought up 72 results (I presume some of the results contains both words)

I also had lots of refunds last year. Interestingly they don’t seem to have been added to the £10k target spend for the current year.

    Same card?
    Are you not churning?

*Though – I’ve never actually tried to make a booking for 3 adults with a 241 so someone else with an unused one might like to try and see if this is actually possible online.

Hi Anna, I tried this yesterday and got an error message advising something about maximum number of travellers, so it doesn’t appear to be possible to do it online on one booking.

This thread seems appropriate for my own question, so apologies for jumping in.
I’m considering a booking in the future for 3 people. Two adults and a young adult in the 16 – 18 age range.
Want to make use of avios and a companion voucher. Club World.
Am I right in assuming this would best be done on the phone if we want to ensure all 3 people are on the same booking and a companion voucher is used for two of them?
Or else should I proceed with a standard 2-4-1 booking and then make a separate reward booking for the 3rd person, and hope BA will seat us in close proximity? (No BA status).
Club World. Assuming sufficient J availability.

    Thanks.
