Absolutely. There was no availability in First anyway, but I think £80 is worth spending to take the edge off a 6hr transpacific flight. It’s 4 inches of extra legroom but more in row 6 (allegedly).

I’ve booked this trip for my 50th in January, travelling solo now.

LHR/SEA and SAN/LHR return Club Suites, 85000 Avios and £450 using my Amex voucher.

SEA/HNL 13000 + £4 and KOA/SAN 13000 + £4, both with Alaska. Upgraded to premium on these flights for £80 each way once I booked (6 inches more legroom on the bulkhead, and free food/drinks).

Internal flight HNL/KOA on Hawaiian £48 cash.

So the whole trip has cost 111000 Avios and £658, which I think is very good value. Although I do need to pay for bags on the Alaska/Hawaiian segments. Took a lot of planning and became much more affordable once it became clear it was going to be a solo trip.

Applied on October 5th for the Barclaycard, having already had the Premier Account. Didn’t get an email, but did get the text recently. Frankly, I’m amazed I got them but they’re there, in my account in black and white.

Also worth noting that,thus far, nobody (to my knowledge) has received the 100k yet . Even those of us that were accepted at the beginning of October…..

Money transfer is different from balance transfer, which is what this thread is about. Why would there be offers for money transfer?

Octopus is a good shout. I cancelled my direct debit and just top it up using the Amex card. £250pm, not a huge amount in the grand scheme of things but it all helps!

Especially worthwhile if you have kids as you can use their Avios that they’ve earned from flights.

The 25k fir the account opening will post after 4 months and once you’ve done the account switch. I opened mine in July, switched in August, got the pints beginning of December. The £3k dined applies only to the credit card and you’ll get that the month after you hit the limit.

However, I did log in and out of the app. And that did work. Thanks for all the advice everybody. I’m not a patient person 🙂

Today is the earliest they might turn up, but if they don’t arrive later today, the points will post in the next few days and no amount of chasing will accelerate the process. I think the latest posting date since inception was the fifth working day.

A relief to find that it’s not just me then. I’ve got 28500 pending, which includes the 25000 bonus on £3k spend. Hoping they drop in the next 2 days or it’ll need chasing up.

Thanks everybody. My plan was J to the West Coast, night stop and then Y on the LAX/HNL leg. Same on return. I’ll investigate the other aforementioned options though.
