I think STE+ only gets CH access if in Premium,
    not Economy.

This was supposed to start today but I’m still seeing tickets priced at the old rates?

Gee, perhaps they’ve realised doubling the redemption prices overnight without any warning has damaged the scheme?

I used this to JFK the other day. Worked perfectly on the 350, just logged in with my Boongo account once I’d set it up. No need for an app. It kicked me out every 90 minutes though. Speeds were good.

On the return on the 330 Neo, no option to use Boongo but you could get 20 mins of free access if you watched an ad. Speeds were glacial.

A return to Paris in Standard class now begins at the equivalent of 30,000 MRs…you’d have to be mad to transfer any over in my view.

In Hamburg last weekend I went for dinner on Sunday evening at the Grill Royal.

This is an upscale restaurant overlooking the Binnenalster, almost next door to the (very grand) Hapag-Lloyd building.

I would say when I turned up at 8pm, the restaurant was 1/3rd full. A quiet but still nice atmosphere.

    Service was excellent.

I had a martini, some Sylt bread, a mozzarella and tomato starter, a very decent steak, chips, spinach, two glasses of St Emilion, a sorbet and an espresso. Total bill was €166.

The only slight negatives were an olive in my martini (I’d requested a twist) and being charged €2 for mustard.

Other than that, recommended if you want a nice place to eat in Hamburg!

So just to get this clear: there are circumstances whereby I might, for example, book LHR-JFK-LHR in Premium and then see UC reward availability for the return sector, but be unable to upgrade it? This would be *very bad indeed* as it’s something I used to do all the time with BA (I’m a relative newbie to the VS scheme).

Interesting. It HAS changed but not necessarily worse (except for you!).

    TO JFK:
    Off-peak Eco to Prem 17,400 – NOW 15,000
Peak Eco to Prem 27,400 – NOW 15,000

    Off-peak Prem to Upper 47,400 – NOW 60,000
    Peak Prem to Upper – 57,400 – NOW 60,000

    Off-peak Eco to Upper 71,200 – NOW 75,000
Peak Eco to Upper 86,200 – NOW 75,000

Well I suppose it is worse for everyone 🙂 as both a Y-W and a Y-J upgrade will come with an additional co-pay, right? So incentivising those types of upgrade rather than the W-J benefits Virgin and not us?
