Had a few new hotel offers appear on my platinum card this morning – spend 200 get 50 back at select and premium Marriott brands, spend 400 get 100 back at luxury Marriott hotels and then I’ve also got a spend 350 at LHW get 100 back

I’ve got the same thing, the website shows an empty list of flights, if you check the app though it pops up a message saying BA systems are unavailable so I think it’s likely just BA IT.

I’m terms of Seoul, the hotels I’d recommend include the Signiel, the view from the hotel is amazing and the food in Bicena is a fantastic Michelin starred take on Korean food. The Shilla is also excellent, the hospitality was fantastic but make sure you get a room with lounge access since the lounge is great as well.
The Conrad isn’t bad but the location isn’t great and the food isn’t amazing. If you happen to stay at the Conrad though, Gyeongbokgung restaurant I. The shopping centre underneath the hotel is amazing for Korean beef and is definitely worth a visit, also the Hyundai department store is a really nice building and is just over the road.
If you’re looking to head out of Seoul then it’s worth making a visit to Jeju, a completely different feel to the rest of Korea, there’s not many chain hotels there but there is a new Marriott that’s not long opened. Busan is also interesting, the Hilton Busan resort is really great but a little outside the city with a spa on the 10(?)th floor that overlooks the ocean. If you’re looking for a hotel in the city, there’s a new Signiel opened in Busan which looks interesting and is right in Haeundae. Gyeongju is also interesting and the Hilton there is good as well.

We’ve used the Marriott price match a couple of times already this year and been reasonably successful with it. We saw one hotel going for €180 per night on hotels.com and €200 on Marriott, filed the price match and they beat the advertised rate by 25%, so our total price was €135. We’ve also done it with another in New York where we ended up saving quite a bit.

We did have one unsuccessful request after finding out one hotel included the city tax on the Marriott site but not on hotels.com

Overall though it didn’t take much effort at all and got us a decent saving

I took some cash out in Seville this week and whilst I can’t speak for Curve or Monese (I used Chase) the cheapest fee I found was €0.56 on a €50 withdrawal from Ibercaja although Chase ended up not passing on the fee

We used Hertz at Malaga airport back in December 2019 and they were fine. The car was clean, no problems returning it etc etc. The only issue was that they didn’t understand the 4 hour hertz grace period that you got with hertz status but it was all sorted quickly

Was there jump-the-queue or suchlike with status?

When we were there, I’m pretty sure there was no queue at all when we turned up so didn’t need to bother with queue jump or the like.
