May i know for solo traveler and using the BA 241 with reduced avios, are we claim the 75% avios based on the total avios (reduced one) paid for the flight or the original amount of avios before 50% discount for solo traveler in the seat downgraded situation?

I am more than happy to have 2PNRs as long as i can get the outbound 50% avios refunded by make use of the 241 for travel solo.
Just want to make sure
1) it can be done and without incurring extra tax but maybe £35 admit fee.
2) i guess the agent might have confused if i want them to book the inbound via phone and get whole journey into one under 241 that leading to recalculation of tax. However i have purposely asked if i booked the inbound with full avios and get the different avios refund.1st September 2024 at 11:59 in reply to: Tax questions about booked 2 individual flights and 241cercwc76 78 posts
Unfortunately my trip will be this year and both seats were available while i booked the inbound. You did suggest me last week to call BA for the booking but i thought 2PNR would gives me some flexibility for the reasons mentioned earlier.
Im using the normal avios and cash for the inbound booking.

The outbound yet booked but the inbound only due to over Xmas time. Outbound is to shanghai around Nov while inbound is from KUL after xmas.
I have read the 241 threads and have purposely asked BA 2PNRs and merger them into one 241 but somehow the agent said if merge i would still require to pay extra tax as it will merge into under 241.
I have thought to book the outbound with avios now and call BA to merge it, i think regardless the avios shouldnt be valued less than 1p but to suck up the extra tax fee 🙁

I am trying to use the 241 as return journey due to travel solo. Admitted i should have called BA for the entire booking but was assuming if booked 2 separately and merged them using 241 i can have the flexibility in cancel and reuse again the inbound in case i need to buy cash ticket to return back home early.

They can also deny not to upgrade you at all even they have suite available for selling on the day you check in. The Marriott suite upgrade never be guarantee based on my experience.

If you’re asking what I think, then you wouldn’t need to swap your voucher, you can just change your flights if seats in a higher cabin become available for the change fee. To actually use a different voucher you’d need to cancel and rebook the whole thing.
I am a bit confused by your comment about PE seats being available with the new voucher as this doesn’t actually open up any extra PE availability so it shouldn’t make a difference which voucher you search with.
With the premium BAPP voucher it would have extra seats available in terms of PE/biz than the old style voucher.

The title should read as Can BA swap the companion voucher 😊

Eh? The cashback only triggers if you pay Amex Travel. Any booking where the hotel does a pre-arrival charge won’t count.
Oh really, i thought the prepaid hotel via amex travel can trigger the offer.

Player 2 renewed Ambassador recently and is now sparkly till 2024. I’ve had the sparkly email but still only showing as valid till the end of this year. I’ve queried it via email, not mentioning Ambassador, of course.
Please kindly keep us posted

Just double check the Chinese official website, it is indicate the covid requirement as self testing only and to be filled in the health form within 24 hrs departure.
Thank you. I have a look and seems they don’t cover Covid. Probably still need to before travel rather tha for points …
As there is 24 hours cancelling policy for ba Avios flight then you just pay £35 for cancellation. It is so sad that Ba doesn’t allow you to change flight but to cancel and rebookBased on several friends that i know there is no official testing certifications is required but just to fill in a health questionnaire 24 hrs before departure. Perhaps likely can do a self testing to ensure nothing serious rather than pay money for commercial testing with certification.
When would you be travelling?
