Okay lol just double checked they definitely aren’t the same flight. One is from LGW and one is from LHR!

Answering my own question as I found a better link than the one in the article.

    Just use BA.com at https://www.britishairways.com/travel/btt/execclub/_gf/en_gb

    It will transfer immediately.

Wow, it’s the same flight even though it has a different flight number and different arrival time?

Okay I’ll just take the express because it’s cheaper then 🙂

Thanks. It took them over an hour but can confirm this is doable over the phone.

Thanks PaulB. I’ll sit down with a cup of coffee and get on the phone then! It’s a shame that you can’t “see” the voucher, and its expiry date, online and use it online.
BA’s system is much better in this regard.

The Virgin Red app shows the exact date the voucher was earned. Two years from then…

Where exactly do you see the voucher? I can’t seem to find mine any more.

No where tbh it’s either safe or not, interesting to visit or not. I leave my politics at home and enjoy visiting other cultures…

Genuinely shocked at this attitude. No matter how abhorrent the human rights abuses, the torture, rape, murder of segments of a population, whether on grounds of race, gender or political views, you’d quite happily implicitly support the regime because you enjoy the culture?

It’s an ignorant and simplistic attitude that hasn’t benefitted from much self-reflection. Easier to sleep an night maybe, but not a good way to live your life.

I will never have any biological children.

This is rather off topic isn’t it?

Obviously not. The main ethical reason for not travelling as much as you’d otherwise want to is climate change. For most of us, the single most destructive act we can do with respect to this is selfishly procreate.

    The beaches aren’t great

Err… what makes you say that?

Merely the fact I have been to dozens of better beaches in budget countries across several continents.

Istanbul is lovely You don’t need more than 3 days with kids I reckon.

A ridiculous thing to say. Istanbul has as much culture as behemoths like Vienna, Barcelona, London, Berlin, Paris. You could easily spend a month there and not scratch the surface.

It would also be nice to spend a week or so in Cappadocia.

The beaches aren’t great but there are some more off the beaten path ones along the Likya Yolu. Also kids could do some fun things like scuba and tandem paragliding.

I am flying into GRU in May with Virgin and I want to go to the falls. Both sides. I was thinking of doing a 3 day 2 night shared tour to take the hassle out of my hands but how do-able is it alone? I don’t know if it’ll be cripplingly expensive with taxis or if it’s a major bum ache going into Argentina for a night. I’d want to stay Brazilian side the first night. If anyone can advise that would be nice. Thanks.

Incredibly simple alone and can easily do in two days. Hiring a driver or booking a tour is massive overkill.

@masaccio – you would class Santo Domingo, Havana, Cartagena, San Juan, as “dull”, seriously?!

If you’ve actually experienced the rest of Colombia for example you’ll see why people say that Cartagena is dull. And you might as well go to the Epcot rather than have half a day at most cruise port cities.

I will not travel on Qatar or Emirates.
I will not set foot in UAE nor take any flight that stops there.
I will not go to Israel.
I do not fly short haul even when train costs significantly more.
I cycle instead of drive where practicable.
I will never have any biological children.
I don’t fly long haul unless I can stay for at least a month – no long flights for short 2 week trips.

I have no issue with the people in the lounges but the quality of food is just abysmal with so many basic errors. Substantially worse than the already low standard of high street chain restaurants.

I’m £100s ahead on this summer’s car rentals by cancelling and rebooking at lower rates.

Hertz (via the AU site) is often looking quite competitive with Avis now but I’m sticking with Avis for now (potential 8% TCB + 6-points-per-£ on Nectar Connect).

Only frustration is the Avis refunds don’t happen until you phone to chase them. There’s little hassle phoning, they usually pick up pretty quickly and the call-centre people seem to be onshore UK and know what they’re doing, but the refunds aren’t actually processed when you cancel, they’re processed when you call.

My Avis refunds seem to work fine…

Thank god the only consequence was a fine.

I regularly drive in other countries in both UK and overseas cars and have never had an issue with this at all, I don’t really get how it’s possible to drive on the wrong side of the road even in the middle of nowhere…

I had a text from the Barclays Premier team the other day asking for a time they can call me to “Discuss the Premier Service”.

I’m a bit concerned that this might be a review of my Premier account which I don’t actually qualify for (my income is below £75k).

Just wondering if anyone’s had one of these discussions and can specify the nature of it?

    TIA

lol why would you ever waste even 5 minutes to have this call with them? Either don’t respond or if they call say you’re busy and hang up.

If my bank wants to waste my time they better be paying for it.

Thankfully it seems they are refunding them…

To answer my own question they now also have pesto swirls, a spinach and chicken croque, saussison sec, a couple of types of cheese biscuits and nuts as well as a few more sweet options.

Not a proper meal so to speak but enough variety to fill up on in a pinch.

I’ve never found prepayment for hotels, other than via the property’s own website, to be reliable.

Works 100% of the time for me via booking.com.

Maximising is going to be a matter of density of items you pack more than anything else.

But if you really want to optimise obviously you want to be maximising the ratio of packed weight to total weight which means minimising bag weight. The obvious way to do this is with a MYOG bag made from 0.5 oz DCF. There are also plenty of off the shelf options using DCF, Ultra 200 or Skytex which will also be close to optimal. The Phi or Bogdan 100L+ bags will also be good options.

However, I don’t think you’d actually asking to optimise/maximise your packing and rather are after a different answer which we can’t help with until we know the average density of the items you wish to pack.

You can do the same offer in a general investment account. No need to use your ISA allowance (or eligibility for S&S ISA subscriptions).

    Where is this offer available?
