Cybernaut 10 posts
You probably know this already but I’ve just gone from Hotels.com Gold to OneKey Silver. Although, given I don’t expect to use the service in future, I’m not too bothered.
Cybernaut 10 postsThey’re definitely having IT problems. I had a notification that my small amount of orphaned points (around 13,500) would soon expire so decided to transfer out to BA.
Got the ‘invalid frequent flying number format’ error that seems to have been cropping up periodically for years.
Decided I’d transfer over the minimum number of Amex MR points to reset the timer on expiry but couldn’t even link my Radisson Rewards account as a redemption partner on the Amex website (suspect that’s also an issue on Radisson side).
Strangely I note they’re still referenced as Club Carlson on the Amex page.
All in all a bit of a car crash and the points are worth so little I can’t be bothered with the hassle of trying to sort it out.
Cybernaut 10 postsSpend trackers are hit and miss with Amex.
This.
What would be the reason for 1/2 appearing only? I guess the question to ask anyone at AMEX is that is it not appearing on my side only.. I know many had issues with the previous SUB that was on BAs side so I am extremely confident the error isn’t on my side signing up wrong.
Perhaps some technical issue. I remember that my SUB also wasn’t showing (via chat with an agent) until I’d made a transaction on the card. I wouldn’t sweat it – Amex usually come through in the end.
Cybernaut 10 postsYes this will work, a £200 spend would trigger both so you’ll end up with £70 back. Done it myself.
Great, many thanks!
Cybernaut 10 postsNot personally although a colleague of mine did so successfully. YMMV of course
Many thanks – to confirm, do you mean you’ve tried it and it didn’t work or that you’ve never tried it?
Cybernaut 10 postsSpend trackers are hit and miss with Amex. The are usually absent from the app/website but sometimes do show up. Just get your partner to check with Amex via the in-app chat function. They’ll be able to confirm she’s registered for the bonus and update on spend progress.
9th June 2023 at 20:23 in reply to: Barclaycard Avios Plus recent enhanced welcome bonus / issues with appCybernaut 10 postsWas the same for me but the 50k points posted correctly.
Cybernaut 10 postsIt no longer tells you anywhere in the app or online, unfortunately. You need to call/chat with support to get an update on where you are in relation to the bonus spend. I typically wait a couple of weeks after card opening and ring them just to confirm that the bonus is tracking against my account and then go off statement balance (but remember the card fee doesn’t count).
Bizarre that they removed the ability to track spending against SUB in the app – that’s something that even Barclaycard manages.
