Its the OP here. I am making a claim after the first leg had been flown one an RFS flight. Skiing injury necessitated the early return from GVA and so had to bin leg 2 and buy an earlier return.I know that I was invalidated from getting Avios back from BA, I did read the T&Cs. I think that I will claim 1.6p per mile rom Amex/Aviva which is about the cost of the cash ticket. I used Avios again for the new flight back.

I thought that but we get them cheap at rates from 0.83 upwards. Maybe the number BA sell them for on their site should be the benchmark?

My booking for check in had the same with a reminder that I need to present my Covid docs for destination. GVA to LGW. So that’s more nonsense to throw into the mix

They still cancelled a flight anyway

It took me 3 calls and 40 mins listening to hold music but I have an answer to this one. As long as you applied in the offer period -4th Sept to 2 Oct then you are entitled to the full bonus if you actually got the approval email afterwards. Like you and I.. Tried to get my exact date from them but they just told me , eventually that I was eligible. Period

    Heres an odd one.

Just did my second boost on player 2’s account. It didn’t seem to go thru on first attempt on phone so tried on desktop. 5 mins later I get both x3 transactions posting. Checked on P2’s BA account and there they both are, posted. Went back again and site said no points available for boosting. Interesting.

On my P1 transaction it let me have one purchase vs. my points balance , here it is letting me double dip. At 0.84 I am not complaining…

    Hi BBB
Yes there are other trips. The cable car is actually the only gateway to a big water /amusement park which I didn’t visit but people have mixed views on. The parents amongst them seemed to like it. See Tripadvisor reviews

If you haven’t travelled round say Hanoi or HCMC then the night market at the main town could be fun. There’s also quite a few local tours offering plenty of the usual snorkelling and kayaking.

We are here for 4 nights and only left the premises once which suited us fine. More than that we probably would want to go out and about. For which we went elsewhere, the big cities, Hoi An etc. This really is a very calm quiet place away from the enjoyable frenzy that is much of modern day Vietnam.

Young kids are looked after as well as adults. There are 2 big family pools. One about 0.5m deep, the other about 1m. Plenty of armbands etc seemed to be available. There’s a kids club but we didn’t go there, looked smart.
There’s even a small kids height table selection of kids breakfast foods in the enormous range available.I saw a number of high chairs in use too.
If you come by air using Vietnam Airlines be sure to build in plenty of time between same day connecting flights. Every one of our 5 flights got either time changed or cancelled and rebooked on one 90 mins + \-. Locals burst out laughing when I suggested switching to another local carrier.

Having looked at rules of the BAH double TP promo you have to stay 5 nights OR take 5 days car hire. Hmm. If I arrive say Monday lunchtime in Tenerife and depart say Friday night back to Uk then my car hire will be for 5 days but only 4 hotel nights. Anybody had this issue? I can’t see a definition of “5 days car hire” whether it means 24 hours or a calendar day for qualifying purposes. I dont want to surrender 160TP on a technicality. Thoughts?
I promisevIndid scour the old posts and Flyertalk but to no avail.

I stayed in Holiday Inn. Not great, overpriced and average food but it was safe!

Im glad that worked for you. I think they’ve gotten more efficient at nailing down the escape routes recently . The email referred to adding the code to a holiday booking, impossible online now and Gold rep wouldn’t let me use it for anything else or rather, her computer said no.
Latest advice is to make the holiday booking then call the Gold line and get them to contact Hols team with the FTV voucher and they think they can get it to retrospectively add. Will have a go tomorrow.

Waiting on hold gets the mind thinking tho…No sign of the £50 discount for the value of booking made before end of today. Thats another conversation 🙂
As is the one to get Iberia to add seat reservations on the BA booked Holiday flights.
So many reasons to listen to the hold tune for another hour..

Chris C . Thanks for nothing. I did try to RTFF but its all jumbled in the new Forums but hey why waste the opportunity to troll rather than be helpful eh?
Northern Lass, Agree a master thread would be a good idea. If you got an FTV from BA Holidays , they sneakily only let it be used on another BA Holidays booking, not an Avios booking or a 2-4-1 or even a straightforward cash flight booking Then they removed the box to add it against the invoice on the payment page and thees no email to use. Hence my email. 🙂
