I’ve successfully done via bank transfer twice and debit card via the app once. Can’t comment if either have stopped working in the past week.
FatherOfFour
Not really finding any issues with the app to be fair.
There were delays to the trackers updating, but I don’t class that as an app performance issue.FatherOfFour
Thanks. I have four young princesses and they (and I to be fair) will want to do the Orlando one in a few years, once they are ready for the “big rides”.
Thanks for the info on the French BHs in May. I was aware of Ascension Day, which is 18th May next year. We are thinking of 29th, which is Whit Monday but I think we are ok as we’d only be travelling that day.
Having had a brief look at accommodation availability etc. I think we’ll pencil this in for May and plan further in a few months.10th May 2022 at 16:52 in reply to: What are the Barclaycard Mastercard World Elite privileges?FatherOfFour
After extensive testing I can confirm the Barclaycard World Elite does provide unfettered access to my lounge. I’ve walked in and out of the lounge several times with the card, and never had a problem. I’ve even been able to bring the dog with me.
The appletv+ is nice for a few months. Unfortunately for the Apple music and Apple news you need an iPhone or iPad.
Downgraded. Which weirdly was super easy. It’s like they want you do downgrade/leave hahaha
Apple music works nicely on my Android. The news and gaming, you are correct.

We were in row 6 CE on our last Avios flight and were served drinks after row 7. (Rows 5 and 7 served simultaneously with trolley parked alongside us)
Didn’t think too much of it at the time.
We had special meals, which were served immediately after our first drinks – we’d barely touched them but were offered a top-up / another drink.5th May 2022 at 09:18 in reply to: When do statements come and can you pay balance before?FatherOfFour
Paid off a chunk both months as limit much lower than Amex and have been directing spend to Barckays.
Continued to earn Avios after paying off.
2nd May 2022 at 21:44 in reply to: Booking.com via the Exec Club BA app – not worth itFatherOfFour
I have recently made a couple of bookings, using booking.com/british-airways.
Like another said upthread, I noticed no difference in price when using this route, vs going direct with booking.com.Avios (the 15av /£ one) however are very poor value for the hotels I have looked at. I did book my Copenhagen hotel through them, at the time of moving my Avios flights as thus constituted a package holiday. And the 6000 odd Avios landed.
27th April 2022 at 17:27 in reply to: Just been downgraded from Club to Premium. Advice please?FatherOfFour
I wouldn’t worry about how quickly tickets have sold over the last few weeks. Lots of people use the Easter break as a spur to book their holidays
Also based on the last set of figures you gave BA are only selling 4 seats in CW (the J4) of which 3 are in the C bucket. C is a subset of J not inaddition to it.
Despite the number of posts about downgrades they only happen on a very small number of flights and it’s not something I think you should worry about months and months in advance and nor would I spend more on selecting seats.
Thanks, I realise it is just 4 seats being sold.
I guess it is also about 6 months from the flight, so another prompt for people to start booking. I won’t spend any cash on this yet and will try not to worry. If we were in a position to do annual trips like this, I’d worry even less, but I can’t see us repeating this trip for a very long time. However, in grand scheme of things, its not very significant.27th April 2022 at 16:36 in reply to: Just been downgraded from Club to Premium. Advice please?FatherOfFour
The experience of the OP in this thread has made me paranoid (and obsessed) already about my flight later this year. It’s a 32 seat Gatwick CW cabin and although only the window pairs are “reserved” so far, BA are only selling 3 more seats in booking class C or 4 in J. This has come down from 9/9/6, 7/6/3, 5/4/2 over the last couple of weeks. (Booking classes J/C/D)
Whilst it’s not oversold yet, when I see the tickets going this quickly, I do get worried we’ll eventually get singled out for downgrade as we are on a 2-4-1. I booked this before the rise in TFCs too, so more reason for BA to see me as a cheap downgrade option!
Trying to be positive:
Given not many seats have been reserved, I do wonder if, by chance there are a high volume of low status flyers (like me) booked onto this flight. This could mean that paying for seating might make enough difference for the cabin to stick?I’m wondering if my best strategy is to do absolutely nothing and view it that BA owe me nothing anyway, or to cash out some Nectar and pay for seating (which didn’t work for poor OP and wife) as and when I see further seats becoming reserved in the cabin.
(I’m not hugely worried where we sit – it almost seems like an additional tax to prevent a downgrade and I’m playing right into their hands!)
16th April 2022 at 14:40 in reply to: Can I use Avios to upgrade a BA Holiday booking?FatherOfFour
You should be able to do it- this from Flyertalk article on Upgrade Using Avios:
01 UuA on BA only flights, booked through a BA sales channel
You can upgrade from economy to premium economy on all published fares except Q, O, and G. You can upgrade any World Traveller Plus or Club World fare to the next available cabin. One-way UuAs are possible at any time as is cherry picking individual sectors for upgrade.
I would suggest this “might” be available from within Manage My Booking (there is an upgrade using Avios link in my booking), but if not, as yonasl says, you might need to brave the call centre.

Depending on how you are getting to the airport LST you could try for MCO-LHR for the return journey if you want club suites. Good luck.
FatherOfFour
My wife’s came through quickly with no additional approval needed (also joint Barclays mortgagees). No PIN yet though.

I’m not aware of any voucher deals etc. except for the discount for booking in advance online. Sure it used to be on Clubcard, but alas no longer.
3-6 is probably about right for the Peppa part, but as jane says, there is plenty for older kids elsewhere in the theme park.FatherOfFour
Are you looking for day trip only, or accommodation too? Been there many times, but always as day-ticket only.

Getting snapped up super quickly. Probably someone on the phone just before 1am, with the call centre staff nabbing them on behalf of the caller.
Paid 5.5 for 11 panels a couple of years ago. This was when FIT payments were coming to an end. Don’t have battery so can’t comment. Despite working at home and using large appliances during day when possible, I still export more than 50% to the grid in Summer, so a battery is something I’d consider as they become a bit more proven.
FatherOfFour
I agree. Using the examples from Rob’s article about the “this is not an upgrade voucher” it would have a value of between 45,000 and 84,000 Avios. I’m not sure it would be wise to suggest what a fair value would be, but I’m guessing some people would see more value in a fixed award of Avios rather than the voucher.
An alternative “option” (which might suit non status folk) would be a “seat-selection voucher”, (return for 2 would hold a monetary value of about £400, but would cost a lot more if paying by Avios)FatherOfFour
If you are signed in, you get to it eventually. You’ll have already input your email address and sekected seats. As long as you haven’t put in your cc details, you haven’t gone too far! I think it also offers combinations of cash+ Avios.
I did this when there was a sale last year.
Thanks both. I looked at one tour company and their price on their own website was very similar, so it’s a choice of “book via Viator” for convenience and possible cashback or “book direct” via emailing to and fro’ but to ensure the tour company gets a bigger cut.

For those struggling, are you Apple users? I’m an Android guy, but did already have an AppleID. Despite signing in on a PC, after clicking on activate the offer, it would ask me to sign in, then just have a spinning icon on a black screen. HOWEVER, I decided to try downloading the Apple Music app onto my (Android) phone. When setting this up, it identified I’d never used my AppleID in the iTunes store. Following this, back to the PC and I was able to activate the AppleTV offer. (I had one more glitch where it wouldn’t recognise the code, but this can be found at the end of the URL)
Hope this wasnt a fluke and it helps someone else too!
Both Apple TV and Music now working. Not able to make use of Arcade or News without an iOS device.

My £100 “test” transaction to OVO energy is showing as counting towards my OH’s upgrade voucher, but not his sign up bonus. This is worrying as I am wondering if they class him as already having a Barclaycard as he has a supplementary card on my HH account. Anyone else in the same position?
Mine updated with a bit of lag.
Balance was circa 3.6k, Bonus showing as hit (and 30,000 Avios pending) However, progress towards the upgrade voucher was showing as £1.1k. About 2-3 days later, the voucher spend has fallen in line and now shows 3.6k. (Most of the 2.5k delta was a council tax bill, so it did cross my mind that this might not count)- This reply was modified 53 years, 1 month ago by .

Why don’t the other 3 join up, then add them to the HHA?
FatherOfFour
I added Bloc onto my booking for my destination hotel via BAH. Adding the 2nd hotel actually reduced the overall cost. I’ve opted for a room with a window and am hoping that twilight check-in is reinstated by then, as it means we won’t have to store our luggage in a small room and we can roll into the lounge the next morning.
FatherOfFour
I’ve had 3DS successes now, since circa 48hrs after my first transaction. However, its still failing on the council tax site. (Run by Capita)
@Aston100 my envelope was also ripped along perforation, but also down one edge. It looks like it was cut with a letter opener. My hypothesis was they were damaged at packaging plant and held back. When people started to complain about delays, someone panicked and gave them a JFDI to get them delivered.
