OK. Looks like left side for both directions (based on most recent flights) but will check a few more.

Don’t know about BIO, but just a general tip – I check the flight paths from flightradar24 and cross check with Google satellite maps to get some idea.

    Great suggestion 🙂

Hi there, does anyone know if domestic trips (London to Glasgow) count, or must they be international?

    Thanks in advance.

Should be OK as long as you book hotel or car hire for the entire trip (min 5 nights) too:

    https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb/executive-club/offers/holidays-double-tier-points#

A “Qualifying Booking” is a British Airways Holidays booking that meets all of the following criteria:
    a. The booking must be for a British Airways Holidays Flights + Hotel or Flights + Car or Flights + Hotel + Car package booking originating in the UK only and the hotel or car element of the booking must be booked for the duration of the trip.
    b. British Airways flights including codeshares and British Airways marketed and/or operated flights only.
    c. The booking must be made before 22 October 2022.
    d. Travel is for outbound departures between 9 June 2021 and 31 October 2022 inclusive (final outbound departure date is 31 October 2022).
    e. The booking must be for a stay of 5 nights or more.
    f. For departures prior to 24 August 2021, the booking must be for a minimum of 2 passengers. From 24 August 2021, there is no minimum number of passengers required.

    g. The participant must register their Executive Club number against their booking prior to travel.

Data point – I chased my bonus “double tier points” today for a BA Holiday that ended Dec 7th.
I used the duty.office@holidays.ba.com email address and was amazed to get a reply same day with tier points credited and the new BAEC Silver status activated.
Maybe BA starting to catch up with the backlog (…or maybe I just got lucky!)

    FFoxSake

    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has a referral for enhanced sign up bonus for BAPP? Or is one expected in near future (@Rob/Rhys: if there’s a reason to wait for few days 🙂 )

    Thanks

Mine is offering 26K (usually 25K, so not a massive increase but every little helps!), for £3K spend in 3 months.
You are welcome to the link if you want it.

    FFoxSake

No need to get any points in this collection year if you are extended. Just look to get the points after 08 MAR 2022 and before 08 MAR 2023.

in reply to: How can I use a BA eVoucher for BA Holidays?
    FFoxSake

    Not correct.
They will apply a voucher to the deposit if you phone up to book the trip and use it to pay the deposit.
Otherwise they will use it to offset the balance due if you apply it after initial booking.
If there is a credit balance after that they will refund it in cash.

    Correct for me.
The 2 x e-vouchers I sent BAH by email were more than the balance left to pay, but less than the total cost of the holiday.
They applied both of them in full and then refunded a part of the deposit back to my card.
This was done for me in mid-November this year. All via email.

    FFoxSake

Also note that e-vouchers can be used to offset the original deposit of the BAH booking too, not just the outstanding balance.
They will refund the deposit (or any part of it covered by the voucher) back to the original payment card.

in reply to: How can I use a BA eVoucher for BA Holidays?
    FFoxSake

Thanks. Is the method via the email form on the BA site?

No, you just forward the evoucher email to “baholidays.contactcentre@ba.com” and ask them to apply to your new booking.

    e.g.
Please can you apply this voucher to my new BA booking reference XXXXXX

    FFoxSake

…a link saying “submit details of your claim online” – clicking on this just brings up another error saying “error 403 – you do not have permission to proceed further”.
So I have got no way of notifying them on the missing tier points.
Is this just me, or is it the same for others?
    Thanks

The BA site is really temperamental, the best way I’ve found to get past problems like that is
    a) temporarily disable any ad-blocker (if you use one), then
    b) open ba.com on a new Incognito window in Chrome and accept any cookies on the BA site.
After you’ve done with the BA site just close the window and turn any ad-blocker back on.
That seems to help me with failed logins at BA.

in reply to: BA Holidays Double Tier Point runs – any ideas?
    FFoxSake

…you only need to book a car or hotel for 2 days even if the “holiday” is 14 days, it has been know to book a super cheap hire car for 2 days then simply not use it

For the double tier points offer the car and/or hotel need to be booked for the entire trip and the trip needs to be ex-UK for at least 5 nights.

Mine seems to have pulled one in from somewhere – but can’t figure out where! I would also be interested to find this out.

in reply to: Do I earn IHG Rewards points at the time of booking?
    FFoxSake

Don’t you get 25000 points for becoming spire? Worth more than £40 if mattress run is the easiest option

    Yes that’s correct.
Definitely worth it if you are only one cheap stay away from getting it.

does anyone know if there is an easy way to find out what vouchers you have earned on the VA cards, at the moment nothing shows on your Virgin Atlantic Flying Club account and so you have to call them to find out which takes hours to get through

Look in the Virgin Red app.
Use the Account menu (bottom right of screen)
Account > Activity > look for a line with 0 points that says “You have qualified for a credit card reward voucher”

That’s it. No other details visible about expiry or anything.

in reply to: BA Holidays tier bonus
    FFoxSake

Firstly, as you’re going to be away for 5 night (minimum) choose somewhere you actually want to go.

Starting in Glasgow made sense for me.
    – Cheap Easyjet positioning flight from LGW (my closest airport). You can also still do LGW-GLA on BA if that works better as a separate booking.
    – Choice of overnight hotels at GLA all within a few minutes walk of terminal prior to GLA-LHR first leg (HIX is totally fine).

For me Athens was a good destination.
Very walkable city, lots to see and do. Some great central hotels (recommend Athens Center Square as a budget option on BA Holidays with inclusive breakfast).

    FFoxSake

How can you tell when your voucher has triggered with the VCC? I’m pretty sure I either have or am pretty close.
Amex let you know right away by email and by dropping the voucher into your BAEC account right away.
I’m hoping VCC are as user/customer friendly
    *fingers crossed

No notifications at all. Look in the Virgin Red app.
Use the Account menu (bottom right of screen)
Account > Activity > look for a line with 0 points that says “You have qualified for a credit card reward voucher”

That’s it. No other details visible about expiry or anything.
