In Feb, I posted how my family member met the 10K target when there was a big chunk of MR points handed out. They got 50kMR points once they mentioned about the prospect of cancelling.

At the weekend, I helped said family member ask for a retention offer before the yearly payment is due at beginning of Jan. They were offered another 30k points.

I’m no mathematician but with some offer the offers and perks of the card, this must be a better way than signing up for the BA subscription or the booster

Is this 2 retention bonus within the last 12 months? Is the hard rule of once every 12 months true?

I was able to book LATAM flights late last year via Iberia (had to move my Avios from BAEC to Iberia though).

When booking your LATAM flights on Iberia website, did it include hand carry and check in luggage?

It does include check in baggage (at least for the two flights I booked through Iberia). I know this because I called up LATAM afterwards and confirmed directly with them. They were actually very helpful and answered the phone very quickly. They sent me the e-ticket receipt which clearly detailed “one piece” of checked luggage was included on all the flights I had booked (including on both legs on the one that was a connecting flight).

The main drawback that has been mentioned by others is the flights are not cancellable/refundable. In my case I still went ahead and booked through Iberia because some of the flights were very expensive with cash fares so I felt it was worth the risk

    Thanks

I booked via BA previously, not Iberia. I don’t book partner airlines via Iberia because they are non-refundable.

Apologies, I quoted the wrong message.

You can book via BA, but you need to call. Also check cash prices on Brazil site or another South American LATAM site, it might be cheaper.

What would be the best way to book LATAM Avios flights which can be cancelled with Avios refunded?

Also don’t book via Iberia as any partner awards (apart from BA) are non-refundable.

Bumping this thread as I’d like to know the answer as well.

Started with the paid card, then downgraded. Now I’ve suddenly got the option to upgrade back to the paid card. There is apparently a welcome offer of 5,000 points for spending £3,000 in 3 months.

Does anyone know if the previous spend on the free card count towards the voucher on the paid card if I upgrade?

Any idea when the upgrade option (back to the paid card) started appearing to you after you downgraded it?

Yes, did wonder how on earth we need to have six pages on how to spend £100 via PayPal.

But for some of us it is 11 (or more) X 3 X £70, but still not difficult as long as Wishcard comes through!

Did you have any issues redeeming wishcard gift cards? I tried and all said card not activated. Bought mine 2 weeks ago.

When BA took the payment, they would have taken 2x payments, one for each person.

The refund will also come as 2x refunds, one for each person.

Did the first refund land today? It could be that the other lands tomorrow…

I paid 2 different amount, 1 for the outbound and another when I added the inbound. Both on the same card.

What’s interesting is the amount refunded so far. eg. Outbound paid £70 and inbound paid £30, I’ve gotten the refund £50 (exactly 50%) more than a week ago. I wonder if the other 50% is held for 2nd passenger?
