Hello – 4 hours late – their rejection email does not say why it was late. The email we got said operational reasons and the rescheduling was done a day before.

Hi – long time since I used Hilton and stayed with them on a reward night at a Hampton and have been given base points – is that an it error in my favour?

Definitely – it will be really clear at baggage reclaim which side you are going out into.

I doubt it given the 15 minute time change – only if they have surplus people to house and I doubt they do!

So I was on ba28 which was cancelled and replaced with ba32 at 2300 instead of 2315 but the good news is I went from old business to club suite so a bit of a victory for me

Yes – it did not go as well as I wanted it to. I meant to help her choose a card and then everything happened too quickly. I am, however, on here every day so will keep an eye on what is happening. The last referral I did was to a gold card and that worked well for Amex as the person is keeping to beyond the first year.

It was – she decided that the 6000 spend in 3 months was too high and without the long haul travel the premium plus card is not worth it. I thought it was 3000 but it may have recently changed.

They are not cheap unless you get advance purchase – for a TGV doing around 150km that is what I would expect for a last minute ticket like this.

The extra 15 is the telephone service fee which applies because this could have been done online.

Be careful though there are quite a few missing.

Voco Madrid and holiday inn Strasbourg nord are the two I wanted.

At checkout, I did remind them of the importance of upgrading diamond members and told them that they had a bit of a reputation for not doing this and got the usual subject to availability. She gave me 2000 points and said I would be priority to be upgraded next time!

I did have a good experience for breakfast and the points required for the night were 43,000 which was reasonable as the room was selling for £300, not that I would have paid that.

Hounslow West station is a really good option for a week and then a short journey on the tube. Much more reliable than waiting for airport buses and 6.50 a day with weekends free

It depends whether they like your route – I got caught out because they did not like the internal flights in malaysia being added in – ended up having to make a complaint and as always struggled to speak to someone intelligent.

Just back from a 2n break in Vienna. You can’t really go wrong here…great public transport, iconic Christmas markets and wonderful classical concerts held in Romanesque churches. The Christmas lights (chandeliers) on Graben are impressive to say the least. There was also a light dusting of snow when we were there to add to the atmosphere.

I can highly recommend the Vienna City Card if you are using public transport. You can add airport transfers which includes the Railjet where you can travel in first class for no additional cost. Uber is ubiquitous too.

Avoid the city airport train – the regular trains take the same time and only cost 4.10 and include connections. Go for the red machines at the airport

If you are interested in art the Belvedere musuems look good in Vienna.

And the KHM is even better – the Albertina is currently a little disappointing in my view though the downstairs exhibition was unusual.

They have put a new rule of max 7 days – I do not know whether they enforce it
Remember at weekends you must drive round to the far car park.
There is street parking about 10 minutes away. I don’t consider it a bad area – I work nearby – but would not leave a car there for that long
