Good luck. I’m still waiting for Hilton points via eStore from a year ago. Still ‘pending’ and a monthly email saying they are still ‘investigating’. Yesterday got an email saying Hilton hasn’t confirmed my stay yet. As it was booked via Hilton.com and I have submitted reservation number, paid invoice, and screen grabs it ought to be fairly easy to do?

Good luck. I’m still waiting for 5500 points from a Hilton stay last July. I email every month, get the same generic ‘we’re investigating’. Tracked, receipts supplied, screen grabs sent. Pretty sure it’ll never happen now….

I’m still waiting for the points from a Hilton stay last July. I chase once a month and just get generic replies. Still shows as Pending. Pretty much given up now.

Update. Not really satisfied and following @SamG, after I rang AA, I wrote to TA and explained that AA insist that changing is no problem and free. Well, well, well. They came back and said AA had now “agreed” to do the change. Hmmmm, maybe the screenshots of the AA chat convinced them. They didn’t get their £750….. It was their flight bookers that were trying it on, not the TA and they have lodged a complaint. Still, all resolved and had official confirmation. As an aside, getting through to AA was a breeze! Thanks for the assist everyone.

OK, I have spoken to AA who looked at the booking. It isn’t even actually ticketed yet [it’s for May next year and only deposit paid] and there is no obstacle at all to changing it. No charge. Had I booked direct, he would have done it while I waited.

I will have to deal through the TA but something is hinky here.

    @ChrisBCN
The reason we’re using a TA for the trip this time is there are a lot of elements, tickets, trips that are all wound up in it and exclusive to this agent.

Bit late to the party here, that’s some thread! Thanks all. I use the card only for overseas spending with Barclaycard Avios card. As the fee freee limits have reduced can you still upgrade for a couple of months and then downgrade?
    Indy

Yes, you can. There is no minimum term for the X or Black plans – you just pay for the months you use, but it is six months minimum for Metal, so committing to c.£108.

    Thanks

    Indy500 138 posts

    Hi folks
I have a BA holiday booked for February ’24 [Canary Islands]. This was snapped up in a sale and the flights are economy. This earns a pretty dismal 20 tier points [10 x 2 under current offer]. If I now upgrade the flights to CE, will this still qualify for the offer i.e. 80 x 2 – 160 tier points?
    Thanks

So what if I earn a voucher on my card, OH earns one on her card, we’re both on the same household account so should I assume we can use both vouchers on the same trip with me as the lead booker?

The answer hasn’t changed since yesterday

The only thing is at the moment you can’t use 2 x vouchers online, it doesn’t let you select them.

A lot of people keep saying this, not my experience at all, have happily managed to use two vouchers, both in my name, on a return journey for a couple, upgrading both legs, all done online (using a mobile phone browser if that makes a difference with BA’s IT).

Thanks, when the time comes, I’ll try that first.

    Indy500 138 posts

The prices still seem to be north of 1p per Avios.
If I had to buy, I would use the triple boost instead (though that is dependant on having enough earned Avios in the 1st place)

Yes, on further inspection, it doesn’t stack up. Thanks

Same here. July stay tracked but never appeared in pending. Numerous emails and now it shows as pending. Due 5900 points so worth persevering I think.

D’oh! I just bought 38,856 avios for £357.48 (at 0.9200p each tonight) via Balance Boost.

Will read Rob’s article tomorrow and possibly cancel this purchase and cancel my BA avios subscription for next year, when it renews in three months time – if in fact I can just buy a lump sum now cheaper than the BA sub! No brainer?

When the BA subscription renews, would it be £1789 that I subscribed for or the new rate of £1989?

I like the sound of 0.825p compared to my current sub rate of 0.89p or the new rate of 0.995p!

I was interviewed by Avios as part of a marketing exercise recently and I asked about the renewal price and verbally she said the price would remain the same as long as the plan remains continuous. They sent this quote:

“Why is my subscription price different to what’s on the home page?
We change subscription prices from time to time, so the price displayed on the home page can be different from the price you pay. Your active subscription price is displayed in ‘My Subscription’ area and it’s the price accepted at the start of your subscription. You’ll pay this price for as long as your subscription plan remains active. If you choose to cancel and resubscribe, new prices will apply.”

    Thanks for the link

Yes – if you’ve got someone to refer you, you usually get an extra 1k avios. Rob or Rhys can refer you if you haven’t got anyone else – I think you possibly said your OH is on a break from Amex?

Yes @NorthernLass, OH is waiting for another Gold ‘start’.

My app suddenly stopped and would not login. Website OK but app dead. Uninstall and logged in and it worked.

I had the exact same issue which lasted for a few weeks. Nectar said it was BA, Ba said it was Nectar. Changed my BA email address in the end and matched it at Nectar. Has been OK ever since. BA IT, ain’t it a beauty!!

Booked LHR-> SIN Business on Qatar via BA.com using household Avios. I’m Silver and have linked accounts. Went straight to Qatar site, loaded the flight and choose the seats. Worked well, which is saying something bearing in mind the IT of both airlines!!

Thanks I could not get the other options to appear so rang the Silver line. They could not get any other options to appear either. I went for the 300k option anyway so happy but odd though…

in reply to: BA website vs phone for Avios purchase
    Indy500 138 posts

@Indy500. You can book them at BA.com or over the phone. note that prices from LHR swem to be same booked via BA or QR. If you’re starting from MAN or EDI you’ll likely save avios booking via QR app or web. Despite this some prefer to book via BA as CS is better if something goes wrong or needs changing. You cannot use amex vouchers on QR operated flights regardless of how you book or any BA codeshares. There have been some reports of QR targeting redemption for downgrades, changes, rerouting and offloading. I’ve no idea if QR are really any worse for this than any other airline.

Thanks for the info. This will be cash plus points. [300k + £1200 approx.]
