Evening. Currently on flight LHR to Singapore in clubworld on 2-4-1 flight but my sisters seat doesn’t recline. They can’t move her as full. Any idea what Avios compensation you might expect in this scenario? Thanks

See if they will offer anything on the flight as that would usually be in addition to something you can get via customer service. I got 10,000 avios for two ppl broken IFE and missing amenity kit in premium economy back in May.

It implies the rate to convert back to Avios isn’t changing. So..

    – If you convert 250 Avios now to nectar, you will get 400 nectar points
    – After 16 November you convert 400 Nectar back to Avios, you will get 250 Avios (so it will be the same).

    After 16 November:
    – If you convert 300 Avios you will get 400 Nectar.
    – If you convert 400 Nectar back to Avios you will only end up with 250 Avios

So you will lose some points in the process..

    This is the e-mail text

    Dear xxx,

We wanted to let you know that from 16 November 2022, the conversion rate of Avios to Nectar points will be changing.

When converting Avios to Nectar points, you currently receive 400 Nectar points for every 250 Avios converted. From 16 November 2022 that will change to 400 Nectar points for every 300 Avios that you convert. The Nectar to Avios conversion rate will remain the same.

This change will take place automatically and your British Airways Executive Club and Nectar accounts will continue to be linked so you don’t need to do anything.

Find out all you need to know about the change by clicking on Learn more below.

in reply to: Can I purchase a specific fare class on BA?
    jjoohhnn

You can make it quicker on the phone (especially for multiple passengers) by booking online and then calling and changing fee free within 24hrs

One imagines you could do this, book enough seats for the lower fare class online, then make a new booking – the one you actually want to do going in to the correct fare class – then cancel the first one within 24hrs. Might just be easier to just call up though.

Good work! I wonder if they have these for any other airports..

I have an e-mail from nectar this morning asking for my IP address! However it logs in ok now on the website and my phone. I have asked if they did something to fix and what it was so I can suggest it in future 🙂

    Another “7135JSO” victim here!
What is happening? Is it Awardwallet? Is it a db merge error?

I do have an account at sainsburys / sainsburys bank / sainsburys energy with the same e-mail address but my nectar e-mail is different!

I think my issues only started after I linked my BA and Nectar accounts for auto converting

Actually. I’m wrong.. the shopping.ba.com website does still have a problem. I have auto-convert nectar->avios set up but don’t seem to be able to turn it off as I can’t login. Does anyone else have this? Are you able to access this website or do you get errors?

    https://exchange.shopping.ba.com/partner/nectar

I get either a 400 error or an oauth.baplc.com problem..

I’ve also had this problem for a while online… Error code: 7135JSO but the app worked fine. This morning when I fired up the nectar app, I was logged out and can’t log back in for the same reason. This is going to affect my avios earning without the bonus offers!!

I can’t login to the Sainsburys website either for same reason (which has a different username). That is still working on the Sainsburys app though..

I wondered if the Nectar account not working was in someway related to it being linked to my BA account. For a while I also couldn’t login to shopping.ba.com but that seems to be working again now!

Do HFP have any nectar contacts they can prod I wonder?

Taking a photo in the app seemed to work for me. But now it doesn’t allow me to upload my daughter’s covid recovery certificate. It seems it only has very limited support for doing that..

I have the same issue trying to upload a photo of my daughter (the same one I used for the passport). I haven’t tried taking one in the app instead yet though..

My NHS GP offer these for £50 a pop so just requested one for my 3yr old daughter. My GP has a thing about it on website, so maybe check your GP?

just to confirm, the Day 3 test as mentioned here, https://dochq.co.uk/shop/ is purely optional ?

This is my first trip since the pandemic started I’m one of these people that likes to be 110% prepared.

It’s purely recommendation, see the official CDC guidance. Pretty cheeky of them saying it’s required.

So the link Jacob has included is for US citizens only. The international citizen version is here:

    https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/noncitizens-US-air-travel.html

It is required to have a 3-day test if you are unvaccinated (e.g. kids). The page is a bit confusing though as the rules are different based on the reason you are “excepted” as they say to being able to travel when unvaccinated and this page doesn’t state which apply to you. Can’t find the page with the specific rules on it currently, but unvaccinated children do not have to self isolate, I think adults do.

hmm this is my original reply that went missing!

This is the attestation form that you have to sign and provide to the airline (link from BA) and it states what you have to do:

    https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/pdf/Combined-Passenger-Attestation-Amended-Testing-Order-12-02-2021-p.pdf

    For unvaccinated children for example:

I attest that I am excepted from the requirement to present Proof of Being Fully Vaccinated Against COVID19 and have made the following arrangements (must check all boxes in D and then proceed to sign Attestation).
To be tested with a COVID-19 viral test 3-5 days after arriving in the United States, unless I have
    documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 in the past 90 days;
To self-isolate if the result of the post-arrival viral test is positive or if I develop COVID-19 symptoms.

Anyone else have issues trying to turn this on? When I follow the link from BA e-mail it says “You’ve been logged out.
You have been away for a while. Please log in again to continue.” I click the Login button and I get a 400 error.

If I try and login on shopping.ba.com manually I get an error back from oauth.baplc.com and some links to employee related travel things :S
Can login to ba.com normally though..

If I try from nectar.com it says on the page:

    Linked with
British Airways Executive Club ***xxxx” which is correct.

    I then get:

    “Oops!
    We can’t connect to your
    Avios account
There is an issue authenticating your Avios account. To see your balance and start converting points re-connect below”

Which results in the same oauth error as if I try and login on shopping.ba.com…
