I thought BA’s “systems” automatically allocated families with children seats a few days before the flight? Ie after status holders but before general public?

I never got an email but cumulative spend did trigger it. Took a couple of days longer to post than the single transaction did on my other card though.

Same situation, I had submitted the tax year overview plus bank statement showing dividends plus computations. All rejected by Barclaycard but no explanation of why. So I’ve now resubmitted a copy of my tax return, bank statements, computations, tax year overviews. There isn’t much more I can send them so fingers crossed it gets accepted this time.

I missed the box to enter the referral code whilst signing up. I couldn’t find a back button and assumed when I uploaded the selfie etc I would be asked to review the application and press submit. But it didn’t. Is there anyway of contacting them to have the code applied so I don’t miss out on the HfP bonus?

Creation has failed to respond to my DSAR request within the 1-month deadline. Has anyone else had issues?

Yes, took forever probably 2-3 months. And when they did finally get around to it they sent the data via 1 single password protected PDF file of about 99 pages and sent the password by post. All pretty useless unless you wanted to know everytime they sent you an 2fa code for login.

I agree, 2 days for player 2 earlier this month. But that assumes you get instant approval otherwise it’ll be longer.

Finally got through to Amex chat who enrolled me. Simultaneously spoke to Brighton who said it was automatically enrolled now.

I saw that, but the HfP article points to the above link I posted and there is no sign of the offer anymore on that page. I wondered if it was automatic now or been removed altogether?

in reply to: When will Amex sort out their cashback issues?
    Jonathans

It’s not just cashback. I’m waiting for the avios from adding a supplementary card to my BAPP. Hasn’t posted (had the second card 3 weeks) and I’m told to wait the 90 days.

Had a 10k avios retention offer last year for spending £3k. Hit that within a week, points again took about 89 days to appear.

It definitely feels like they are stretching out things.

The membership year resets every time you cancel and reapply, so do the benefits. Therefore you can get multiple vouchers per year in theory. Obviously you won’t get sign up bonuses but will get referral bonuses. But as it’s not in the spirit you’re at the mercy of Amex as to whether they’ll accept you back time and time again if you do it regularly.

So annoying, I did a DSAR request that has been handled by BNP. They’ve sent the data to me online using Adobe Docusign but sent the password by post. Still waiting for it and I’ve had the data for about a week and still cannot open it.

So a brief update, whilst I categorically did not accept the revised LCY flight. But because I clicked to see what other possible flights I could move to, BA claim implied acceptance of the revised LCY flight and that there is nothing they can (or will) do.

Strangely, using the same link it still let me move the return flight to LCY (for free) so we’ve rebooked the parking at City and will look to claim this plus food from BA on our return.

All a little annoying and I’m sure BA could have acted better but will just take it on the chin. If there wasn’t young kids involved I might have the appetite for a fight but at this point anything for an easy life which lets BA massively off the hook.

    5) can i request BA move our return flight to LCY instead of LHR fee free?

in reply to: Reward Seat Availability (Miami / Orlando) Nov 2022

There are some Y seats. It must be a very popular month and all the J seats have probably been booked. I booked at t-355 as that’s how quickly I noticed them going over previous days.

The US line is now manned by a UK based team. Why dont BA just switch to 24/7 lines so we only call our local number with it being from country to country on the backend?

in reply to: Waiting time to book T-355
    Jonathans

It’s pot luck. I called up to book my outbound flights and was on hold for over 40 minutes recently. When I called up to book my inbound I was answered within 15 and told to call back because they couldn’t sit their for half an hour waiting for midnight to come. I called straight back and was waiting over 40 minutes again.

A FTV cannot be applied to an existing booking and I have tried many times so calling is your only option unfortunately.

If its a popular route and limited seats released my advise is call from several phones 10-15 minutes apart between them and hedge your bets. The other option is if First class is flown on that route, call You First. Lines are always answered within 15 minutes. Ask them to hold business and first whatever is available as they can hold seats the moment they are released without inputting any passenger details. This gives you a little more time to complete the booking without the fear of losing the seats.

Did you get an answer to this as I am due there on a couple of weeks?

So an interesting twist to the creation saga. Not transferring the missing points of November and December caused me not to renew my spire status and loss of the additional 20k points that brings plus the loss of the 20% reward email sent yesterday. Can I add that to my complaint as consequential loss?

I made a complaint to creation in November. My 8 weeks were up on 4/01 and I received an email “apologizing for the delay” as they “cannot provide a response due at present…due to internal delays” but the complaint is important and will “have a final response as soon as possible”. The letter invites me to take it to the FOS which i haven’t done yet and frankly reading @JDB comments i don’t see the point as it seems the odds are stacked against me yet it will take 6-12 months just to be told nothing is doing.

My complaint is essentially about the free night, missing earned points and pro-rata refund of annual fee which i guess is the same for most people. Whilst the free night, i can sort of understand not getting as my Creation account won’t be open at the time of anniversary (March 22) and to me, this is a grey area – as Creation unliterally made that account closure decision and put me in the impossible position of the account not being open at anniversary. I find it incomprehensible for a firm to take an annual fee, close the account mid way through that year and not give some of it back. And the points earned during the notice period – i am not to know what industry practice is and without being told or reminded in the original closure\notice letter why would i not expect not to earn these. After all they let me spend on the card and the counters all went up every time?

Another 3 weeks have nearly passed and I still haven’t heard from Creation nor have i chased either but again i shouldn’t really have to. Do I give Creation due credit for their diligence in investigating my complaint thoroughly or has it just been shoved to the bottom of the pile and forgotten about? Do i chase them, just give up or go to the FOS without chasing? In the meantime i have submitted a DSAR request to see what light that sheds on my account being targeted by them.

I’ve got flights to MCO and back from MIA over October half term. Really wanted to travel with Virgin but they just didn’t release the seats anywhere near early enough which forced me to go with BA. I think usually they are around 330 days or less compared to BA 355 days and on popular routes you just can’t take the risk waiting for Virgin.

in reply to: Does BA actually answer the phone?
    Jonathans

I had a similar issue last last week so I actually called You First (fully intending to only book Club World) and was answered within about 2 minutes. My pretence was that i was after availability on First class seating to which i already knew the answer…. and was duly told only business class was available. OK then, i’ll take those then please can we go ahead? Used a FTV and the experience was painless done and dusted in about 15 minutes although i am still waiting for it to be ticketed.

I got my 8 week letter from Creation today saying they “are unable to provide a response at present due to internal delays” and giving me the option to go to the FOS.

Regardless of any outcome I am appalled at the contempt Creation is treating its (now ex) customers with. If there was some urgency and transparency i could have some sympathy for the delays most likely caused by COVID and Xmas but they clearly have no plan and just sticking their heads in the sand ignoring the issues they’ve caused and seemingly not even trying.

I cant see any point going to the FOS for their own backlog and delays will mean this takes a year or so and MCOL would rather you exhaust the FOS first but there needs to be a point made that they cannot unilaterally stick theirs fingers up to their obligations. So where should one really go next?

in reply to: New vaccination requirements in NYC for over 5’s
    Jonathans

I saw something similar last week for our cruise departing Florida next October – over 5’s are not welcome on-board without vaccination. This is due to a recent change in the CDC guidance. The further complication is our government have just reiterated that their are no plans to vaccinate primary school children so I probably couldn’t get my 5yo vaccinated even if I wanted to. Good job I have a long time for things to change before next October.
