Curiously, on two separate one-way Reward Flight Saver economy flights I cancelled three days ago I was charged:
– FLIGHT 1 – LCY-BCN One way – Economy
£17.50 minus £35.00 canx fee – Refund = £0.00– FLIGHT 2 – BCN-LHR One way – Economy
£17.50 minus £31.70 canx fee – Refund = £3.30 (not yet received)I don’t understand the £31.70 for the second flight – or why that leads to a refund (if indeed the money is returned).

I am indeed on the Vueling 1820, or I’d like to be. Yes 3.5h further delay. Was even worse earlier. A few other BA LCY refugees waiting at LGW for the Vueling gate staff. Inbound just landed so that’s something.

Thanks for the quick replies. I’ll keep an eye on that page for updates.
Gold line “didn’t know” the reason for cancellation!
Just keeping fingers crossed the rebooked flight doesn’t get cancelled when I arrive at Gatwick!

Thanks for the info. My needs have changed so not pursuing it this time but useful to understand the reality of the offer.

Ok thanks all for the comments.
jonnyfly 46 posts
Thank you. Not sure exactly what that means. Is that the cancelled outbound on the same airframe?
Frustratingly, I was originally booked on the later unaffected BA MIA-LHR. But BA rebooked me into the earlier and now affected flight because my minimum connecting time at from Key West at MIA was 60 seconds less than policy!!

Using a browser and WITHOUT logging in (just booking ref and last name), I could check in on the 4th attempt.
Can’t do the passport chip scan (USA destination) though as that requires the app which still errors 100% of the time.
The fact I was only Seq 30 8 hours after OLCI opened suggests most people are having problems.

I promised to report back. Card expired yesterday.
I DID get a soft landing from ‘gifted’/sponsored Gold to Silver despite reports that there is no soft landing for sponsored statuses. Perhaps the soft landing was offered because I completed 4x revenue sectors even though I didn’t even reach the Bronze TP threshold.
Took 14 attempts to log in to BA.com today, so no change there!

On web, I get temp_outage, or sorry something went wrong, or cannot refresh on the app.

Thanks Rob.
Fingers’ crossed. I’ll report back in October!2nd June 2023 at 21:35 in reply to: BA Holidays double tier points offer – MASTER THREADjonnyfly 46 posts
Thanks. Yes already searching LON not LHR. And using “custom trip”. Seems anecdotally that this was viable last year. But maybe not cost-affective in 2023… I’ll keep searching…

BA Holidays with BA codeshare on Qatar..? Doable?
Hoping to max out BAH double points with something like LHR-(DOH)-HKT, SIN-(DOH)-LHR using Qatar-operated flights on BA codeshares. But it seems not doable. Plus flight costs v high. Searching on BA.com it seems like I chasing a pipe dream.
Anyone had any success with something like this? 1,120 tier points in J would be v nice from one return trip. Thanks
25th April 2023 at 19:25 in reply to: Curve replacing personal cards with business cards if used with COTjonnyfly 46 posts
Hi. I’m a bit confused!
So I also unexpectedly received a Curve Metal Business card, purportedly to replace my Curve Metal consumer card.1. Can I keep using the consumer one – until 10 June23? (or is the consumer one dead now?)
2. Now I’m switched to business, does that mean I can continue to use it with CoT for HMRC up to the £10k/month limit, but I now have to pay 0.1% instead of 0%?
3. Or does the 0.1% fee only kick-in after after 10 June?4. And everything else not related to CoT and HMRC stays the same as before with the consumer card?
Apologies for being a bit dense but there was no clear communications with the card or on email. Thx.

Thanks @Seagull. Logging into BAEC I see a different number ending 4504 (gold).
It says the line closes at 2000 Eastern which is 0100 GMT. So that’s ok.
Thanks for estimating the wait time to answer.
I might need this for outbound too if I hit another BA IT glitch!

Thanks for the link: @skywalker. I will review carefully but I don’t have the Alienware/Killer Control Centre that seems to be the common issue in that article. I’ve never seen this error before and interesting that @Blair Waldorf Salad seemingly had the same issue at the same time making a similar transaction.

Is there a reliable phone number accessible from the UK at midnight to do this by phone?
I’ll have to do phone (not web) to do the return leg add-on anyway at some point as clearly flights are being snaffled up within 5 minutes of going on sale – so waiting for the morning UK phone lines to open won’t be viable.

I’ve just phoned BA. Predictably the Avios agent was not interested in reporting the IT error or providing any help. Also confirmed Customer Relations (Gold) won’t speak to customers – have to fill out a form on BA.com!

Same problem here (iPhone). On the app, under the four blue round buttons, there’s a white panel with three blank grey boxes in it. I suspect that’s where the product information should be.
Have tried deleting and re-installing the app, also on iPad – the same. Tried applying on the web and after the quiz on historical applications, I got “Sorry, we can’t complete your application at the moment. There’s been a technical problem and we can’t continue right now”. Anyone else had this?
Don’t know if it is technical, or if I failed quiz on dates or previous account openings.
Do you have to wait a day after activating the CC in the Barclays (not Barclaycard) app before the app will display other products?

What a shoddy product.
Just wasted time as my account was missing about 10% (i.e. money out less than money in despite £0 balance). After having to manually copy each transaction from the app into Excel, and call CS, it turns out that two transactions from two weeks ago are simply missing in the app, but contribute to the app balance (and are on the internal systems). They were TfL transactions from about 2 weeks ago and are not pending.
Agent said this is not the first time this had happened and asked me to complain to:
complaints@prepaidfinancialservices.com as they do not have a route for feedback!
I have just emailed them.In case this helps others, as First Direct would not play, my initial top-ups were on my HSBC CC. Interest charged (by HSBC) and no world points issued. After a 20 minute call to FD, they have now ‘unfrauded’ the top-up option. I won’t be using the card again and will close once the bonus points arrive.

Thanks @Zana – just signed up for Camden. It mentions PressReader on the sign-up page. Let’s see what happens when the card arrives…
So strange that only half of my flights receive a T-24 BA “Time to fly” email (of which PressReader is just one element),

FCRW
Brilliant – thanks.
18th July 2022 at 14:58 in reply to: BA – how can I check actual flight cancellation reason?jonnyfly 46 posts
It’s coming up as FCRW on ExpertFlyer, which I gather is flight crew-related (presumably unavailability?).
@PeteM – thanks for the super-quick reply and for checking. I guess the screen that shows this is behind a paywall. Not sure I can justify another travel subscription service!!
