If you value your vouchers you might want to consider using the multi carrier chart.

Clocks in at 21,359 so can add in some domestic connections (you’ll need to add at least 1 anyway to hit the 2 airlines) for 480k Avios plus taxes. Worth a thought.

For a one hour flight it shouldn’t really matter too much on airline. I’d go for price/Avios options.

Qantas lounges are good, but also depends what your expectations are I guess. It is a domestic lounge not an international lounge.

Plenty of PP restaurants in all Aussie airports if you have access to the credit.

Most recent one I’ve been to was the JL First lounge in Tokyo Haneda. It was huge and very impressive. Felt like a terrible waste that we were on a flight before 10am. It’s also a shame that we’re not exactly going to be there very often!

I hate when the timings don’t add up with your current state/mood. Always feels like a waste.

Few days after hitting the spend it should be in your account in my experience.

They are sent over (once earned) with your points few days before statement date. You don’t get to choose unfortunately.

As someone who lived in Rotterdam for 3 years I have to recommend it. It’s more of a local city than a tourist city so as someone who just wants to stroll around it might be enough but still plenty to do for a short trip. Markthal, witte de wit straat, cube houses, oude haven all on the list to see.

In terms of accommodation the marriott is next to the station so it’s convenient if arriving by train although probably better options out there. If wanting a chain hotel think either of the hiltons are better locations.

Not sure why the need for such negativity in an otherwise positive piece of news. I for one am very pleased with the ability to message on the ground for multiple reasons.

Don’t forget to check out other Oneworld Airlines (Cathay, JAL, Malaysian, Qantas etc). Multi carrier award is the best value to Australia for sure although it will require a bit of time and planning to find the seats.

Next time use another oneworld website such as Finnair to change your ff number.

In my understanding the credit comes off your next bill. So your statement remains the same but your next bill will be your total spend minus the refunds.

You’d assume so but it doesn’t always work out like that when BA is involved. Obviously R class is different that’s why I was asking inn this specific case. I’ll let you know how I get on, hopefully I get the 140 TP.

The first agent has pulled your pants down by not doing it correctly.

I cancelled my card in 2021 so I’m not 100% sure when the 24 months is up. Is there any way to find my cancellation date? I’ve asked amex chat however I don’t really trust the date they’ve given me as it doesn’t sound right.

If you cancelled via chat, maybe ask for copies of your chat data – I know sometimes they issue me with reference numbers for the chat if I ask for one, which means conversations might be logged somewhere.

If you do that, be careful as the date you asked them to close your account make not actually be the effective date of closure for SUB purposes. Unfortunately there is no substitute for keeping one’s own records if playing this game. It also pays to leave a fair margin of error by not applying exactly to the day two years later.

In my notes I’ve got Dec 23 as my 2 years but the agent has said February 21 I cancelled it which surely isn’t right. That’s why I was asking as it makes me eligible now.

Club Suite is brilliant. All seats are good. No need to pay £100 or more to reserve a particular seat.

Adequate is probably a better world. Still miles behind the Middle Eastern carriers.

Thanks guys. Will look into those recommendations.

I’ll have about 30ish hours as we’re flying into KL in the morning and out the following afternoon/evening. I’ll head into the city as I’ll also have most the next day too.

Do you mean the the us personal platinum? We don’t get such a credit in the U.K.

Anyway it is per calendar year if talking about the us card.

Are these itineraries covered by UK261?

Also is there a way to add a 2-4-1 voucher to bring down the number of avios required?

Unsure on the UK261 someone may have to confirm that.

As for the companion voucher you won’t be able to use it in the same booking. It’ll have to be two separate bookings. Don’t think there’ll be much Avios difference to be honest and your taxes will be likely be higher with BA

Good work! Doesn’t sound bad for the T&F, don’t think there is any way of checking (pricing up the legs on ITA matrix and adding those up will give you a rough idea perhaps)

My thoughts exactly. Didn’t think there was any real point arguing or asking for a manager for the sake of a couple hundred quid.

Just check the seat configuration when in the booking process.

    2-4-2 layout = old seat
    1-2-1 layout = new seat
