Currently delayed at EDI for 15.15 night to LHR. Now delayed until 16.42. Is there anywhere I can find out the reason why or where plane is? TIA
kelliea1 131 postsRegarding 125 ticket numbers. If I booked a flight using a 241 voucher then called to add the return to that would the ticket number be the same for both flights? It’s showing the same ticket number on the app for outbound and return?
21st August 2024 at 23:14 in reply to: The ‘How to book the return leg with 2-4-1 companion voucher’ threadkelliea1 131 postsJust an update for those of you looking to call the US/AUS/JAP offices to book reward flights. As previously mentioned I was told by the US office that they weren’t able to help UK customers book, AUS office weren’t trained and Japan office did help but my first choice flights had already gone by the time they opened and I passed security. I decided last night to try to call the US office just out of curiosity to see if they gave me the same answer. I called about 12am and spoke to a friendly UK based agent who said he could book and was happy to on this number but I was too early (I realised this). I called back at 12.45am and got another agent who was friendly and happy to help try to get the flight I wanted to change to (SIN-LHR instead of HKG-LHR). He explained that the systems to pay and calculate were down but he could try to get the seats. We chatted for 5 minutes and then at 1.00am if he was successful and got both seats for me! All done by 1.15am.
I had to call today to make payment and for the extra avios to be taken. I am awaiting the back office to email my ticket details which they said could take a couple of days.
I am really pleased with the result and wasn’t even going to try to call anymore but maybe was lucky due to the system being down, less people booking online and getting a friendly agent. I hope this is helpful for those of you needing to call the US office.19th August 2024 at 13:27 in reply to: The ‘How to book the return leg with 2-4-1 companion voucher’ threadkelliea1 131 postsThank you JDB
19th August 2024 at 12:41 in reply to: The ‘How to book the return leg with 2-4-1 companion voucher’ threadkelliea1 131 postsApologies for another question but I have received an email to pay the taxes for my flights I booked last night and have been quoted £287.50 each from HKG-LHR which is only a small amount less than my LHR-KUL taxes. Does that sound correct? I said I would call them back to pay as I wanted to check, thank you
19th August 2024 at 10:35 in reply to: The ‘How to book the return leg with 2-4-1 companion voucher’ threadkelliea1 131 postsI might try the US line tonight as hopefully will be in 24 hours to cancel and rebook. I don’t have my ticket number yet as the agent said it needed to go to the back office to be ticketed and taxes working out so hopefully that won’t cause a problem?
I’ve looked and seen that Hong Kong Airlines do a morning flight from Bali to HKG so would not lose the last night in Bali and could fly in the same day to catch the flight home.19th August 2024 at 09:59 in reply to: The ‘How to book the return leg with 2-4-1 companion voucher’ threadkelliea1 131 postsThe Australia agent did seem to want to help but wasn’t trained on avios bookings and did ask a supervisor to help who then suggested the US line. I agree there’s not many options left if you do not have the avios to book online and are quick enough.
19th August 2024 at 09:55 in reply to: The ‘How to book the return leg with 2-4-1 companion voucher’ threadkelliea1 131 postsIt’s a shame the Australia line couldn’t help as would have snapped them up! My OH now thinking should we go PE from KUL and have 1 day more in Bali?
19th August 2024 at 09:30 in reply to: The ‘How to book the return leg with 2-4-1 companion voucher’ threadkelliea1 131 postsMorning,
I phoned the Australia number and after 10 minutes got through and was told they weren’t trained to do Avios bookings! I queried this and he asked his supervisor who also said they could not help! By now it was 12.58 so too late for US line. I then called the Japan line and got through by 1.08am. The agent was really helpful but I could see the KUL and SIN flights disappear before my eyes! He managed to book HKG Business.
It’s not ideal and this morning I’m doubting whether I should have gone for Premium Economy but we don’t get to fly Business that often and never been to HKG so will add a 1 day trip on to end of the holiday. Thanks for all your help.18th August 2024 at 17:03 in reply to: The ‘How to book the return leg with 2-4-1 companion voucher’ threadkelliea1 131 postsFor Australia I have (+61) 1300 767 177 and Japan 03-3298-5209
18th August 2024 at 17:01 in reply to: The ‘How to book the return leg with 2-4-1 companion voucher’ threadkelliea1 131 postsJust realised with time difference they will be open. I’ll try Australia first then Japan if no luck then.

18th August 2024 at 14:35 in reply to: The ‘How to book the return leg with 2-4-1 companion voucher’ threadkelliea1 131 postsI’m going to call the US office tonight to try to book my inbound seats from either KUL or SIN. When I tried a dummy call a few nights ago I was told they don’t book for UK customers but I will try. Can I just check I have everything that I need to do/say in order please?
1. Call number about 12.45ish 1-800-452-1201
2. Ask to book an inbound leg using my 241 voucher
3. Have all flight details ready
4. If unsuccessful try the UK number at 6am to try and get through to the change lineThank you
17th August 2024 at 00:20 in reply to: The ‘How to book the return leg with 2-4-1 companion voucher’ threadkelliea1 131 postsHi, I thought the UK office opens at 8am not 6am?
kelliea1 131 postsThank you for your advice, I’ll keep my options open.
kelliea1 131 postsI did want CW from SIN, KUL or HKG if possible rather than PE. Will have to keep checking daily if no luck with US office.
kelliea1 131 postsNorthernLass, if I was to grab PE flights from another country home would I still have to call up for these or I could do it online? Thank you
kelliea1 131 postsYes I have the outbound booked and am looking for the inbound in the next 6 days or so (can be a bit flexible). Availability was good but not so good last couple of days, thank you
kelliea1 131 postsHe was European but were adamant I had called the UK? Maybe as the UK office was still open the call went to the UK? He said his colleagues would not be able to help me either?
kelliea1 131 postsHi,
I’m very confused now! I just called what I thought was the US number for Blue 1 800 452 1201 to check it was correct for when I need to make the 12.45pm call. The call was answered and I was told that they do not make booking for UK customers. When I asked where I was calling they said UK?
Sorry for this but what am I doing wrong?kelliea1 131 postsThank you for your advice. I’m lowly blue so will check the best number. Thank you
kelliea1 131 posts@RK228 what number did you call please and what time? Thanks
kelliea1 131 postsThanks NorthernLass. I think Skype is a problem with my caller ID being disabled and every time I try to enable it with a code it isn’t working. My phone package may do a cheap plan, I’ll check.
Do you think with the availability in SeatSoy that I would be able to call the UK line at 8am and get either KUL, SIN or HKG? I would need around 2nd week of August to return. Thankskelliea1 131 postsI’ll check again as Skyscanner didn’t show any direct to HKG, thanks for the heads up.
kelliea1 131 postsI don’t have enough avios to book online which is the problem. Not feeling confident about calling at 12.45am as Skype issues still not working. Will try to sort that out if not see if I can call on my mobile with a cheap plan and do a dummy call to the US office. Thanks for all your advice and help.
