Tried to use this form to cancel flights for next year, got an email saying I am not eligible for a voucher (which I knew) but no other information.

It can be done, have booked for myself and my wife and two kids to go to Florida this year using a 2-4-1. Only problem is that there there must be four “conventional” reward seats rather than the (I?) class that is now opened by the “new” 2-4-1 vouchers.

I used curve with HSBC Premier, it worked well until they decided not to give points for HMRC payments. I used to use it to pay off my Amex as well, but then lost my bottle when the creation cancellation fiasco occurred – value my relationship with HSBC too much to lose it over a few points!

They can help find an island that matches your needs, for example I wouldn’t stay at O&O as it is too large an island for my tastes and I prefer an island with a good house reef. Someone else might want a resort with multiple restaurants or close to whale shark or manta ray spots. The trip advisor Maldives Forum is a useful place too.

Burning the midnight oil but managed to get online and grab 4 seats from LGW to MCO for 5th April next year 😀, I did get the 4 from LHR into my basket but they got reserved by someone else before I could check out.

I guess it won’t be club suite but it will still be a nice treat for the family. Just need to figure out how I’m going to book the return leg (so I can still use my 2-4-1 voucher and not get stung with the extra fees) on the phone in two weeks…

Thanks for the replies. Kids are off from 1st to 25th of April, as it is spring break until the 14th of April in a lot of states, I was hoping to book from 8th-23rd but will be trying for a few days before that and will take it if I get it.

Bear in mind July is wet season in The Maldives, you could potentially be washed out the entire trip.
