Thank you all for your replies. Have just spent some time on this.
Qatar website – I have points in Qatar but i still can’t get thng e system to show me availaibility and cost.
Looking at the BA website- considering the option via Brussels. Brussels to DPS £350 & 160,000 avios for 2.
HK to LON £155 plus 110,000 avios nd voucher.

Anyone has a suggested for a better option?

Also i am struggling to find flights from Bali/Lombok to Hong Kong both cash or avios in April.

Thank you. Is it possible I cannot see Qatar availability cause I don’t have Avios in Qatar Privilege? How many Avios should it be?
Does Qatar release seats at -360? Or is it more random? Problem is we really need to fly on a specific date. But Lon-Bali via Doha would be amazing.

yes after reading that article i decided to have a look. But looking on ba.com redemptions, doesn’t look like Finnair fly to Indonesia and couldn’t find availability Helsinki to Singapore.

On QR website the only options I am finding for comparision are flexi – 320,000+ £548pp

Rob did an article on Finnair the other day, with a list of avios prices.

Have you looked at QR prices over on their website?

When we fly from LCY we use Yourparkingspace and park at Holiday Inn Express. Done it about 5-6 times without any probs. It is about a 15min walk to airport or take an Uber.

Don’t usually buy from EBay but would like to take advantage of the current cash back. If I add items to the basket from different suppliers to make it over £15 does eBay charge you a total or it breaks it up?

Used the credit at Zuma Rome last week. Would definitely go back even if there was no credit.
Sat on the terrace, tapas food – which was v good, we were there for 4 hours never felt rushed. Tables not too close to each other.
Had 2 cocktails, 1 bottle of wine, 8 small plates, desert and 2 coffee and came to £170.
    Good place for people watching.

The Westin has some good restaurants and a casino. Most of the rooms have lovely balconies with sea view and Some of the rooms have been refurbished. Location – it’s in Paceville, the party town of the country. Clubs, bars, loud music but 5 min away on foot you are in St Julians where there are some nice restaurants. The promenade along the waterfront is also 5min away and it is a lovely walk all the way to Sliema ferries where you can take the ferry across to Valletta.
The Marriott is only 10min away from the Westin on foot, towards Sliema and it is overlooking a small pretty bay. The promenade is right there and loads of nice restaurants around.
Plenty of rooms with sea view.
For location I would choose the Marriott. The restaurants in the area will all be open in February.
The weather could be anything, this year we had storms and it was cold. No one here swims in the sea in February.

Malta-LGW flight not officially cancelled but crew said they will not be able to fly now. But we are still being kept at the airport. My house is 10min away from airport so this is a bit frustrating.
There are no seats on tomorrow’s flight.

Do we need to wait at airport till they rebook us on another flight later on in the week?

Does it have to be a BA flight or can they rebook us on another airline?

What if we are rebooked in economy and our original booking was Club – are we entitled to compensation?

    Apologies for all the questions.

Just been disembarked from the malta to LGW flight. Waiting for someone to tell us what happens next. There is no chance we will leave today as crew running out of time.
Have our car parked at a Your Parking Space site which will expire tonight. Anyone knows what we can do about this?

Can you log in and extend the car parking?

Thanks so much. Didn’t realise it was possible.

Car insurance – have looked at the documents but still not 100% sure so thought I ask here.

We are renting a 12 seater mini bus for one day for personal use in the UK from a local rental where we live. Is this covered by the insurer?

They don’t take Amex so paid using the Virgin credit card.

Do you need to use the £150 in one dining venue or is it cummulative?

we got back yesterday and were deck 13 front. No noise and were really pleased with cabin. Also easy to just walk up to the 15th floor for galley and pools..

We are on it now and there are 1700 sailors – max capacity is 2700. Apparently next sailing will be over 2000 and looks like it is getting busier. Loads of Virgin Atlantic crew as they all got a free cruise.
Seems like v few people actually paid for their cruise.
Today is sea day and everywhere on the boat is busy. I can imagine when it is busier it will be v difficult to get a sunbed as by the pool was already full at 10am.
Having said that this is our first cruise and we are really enjoying it.

Try just booking it starting in Dublin but ending in LHR the savings should still be the same.
I booked Dub-LHR-NYC and Boston-LHR yesterday using a companion voucher and the total cost was £612.

Looking forward to our French Daze in September.
Do Virgin charge in USD for onboard purchases? And what about the pre purchased bar tab?
Just thinking what credit card to use as we also have the virgin credit card with the 10% cash back.

I always buy gift cards at the concierge office and have always received the cash back. Most recent in May.
This means that I can get gift cards using different Amex cards and then use them as necessarily amongst the various stores and not having to worry if it’s cumulative or not and trying to match the exact amounts.
At the end of the visit I pop back at the office and ask them to add the avios to my account. Sometimes they tell you to send email.

@Leigh – oh so than i guess i can’t use it as i already did the booking, unless there is a way of linking the 2

@leigh – will use your referral but i am not sure what details i need and how to do it. Please let me know

Thanks Rhys.Just wanted to hear what others are considering in making their decisions.

For us – at the moment everyone seems to still want to go but i just want to make sure we have thought of everything. Our current thoughts are we will be outside most of the time, the data looks like the worse will be over by then, and the risks are not much worse than here. On the other hand if something happened you are in a foreign country far from home.
