Is there any way I can check availability on Swiss without having any points there?

    Thanks for this.

But the link you sent is about Avios points not MR points, is there any way to book having MR points?

How can I use AMEX points for a Eurowings redemption?

Business Platinum customer for just over 2 years. Spend around £600k pa. Never tried to cancel before. Asked to cancel on live chat and currently no retention offers available, so was fine seeing me go. Held off cancelling for now.

I have a similar spend profile on my business plat. Was just offered £55 statement credit as a retention offer. This is now the second year that I’ve had this rather meagre offer, although it is better than nothing.

When I was spending similar amounts, I managed to get double points for 6 months on my Business Gold for two years running. You can imagine how many points I racked up as a result.

Upgraded to Platinum and so far only £55 as well. Should have stuck to Gold, perhaps.

I have both the Business Gold and the Business Platinum, so far no retention offers.

Related question for me as the option to upgrade has now appeared for me again (after 12 months, was previously AP, then standard). Will I still receive the 5k bonus Avios if I now upgrade again? The Ts and Cs only cover the scenario of awarding one Avios welcome bonus – ie. if you close your account then you aren’t eligible for 2 years. But in this instance I haven’t closed it, simply downgraded and now planning to re-upgrade? Anyone done this and know?

You do not get any bonus for upgrading.

Wrong, you do sometimes get offered a bonus for upgrading.

    Found this from American Express

“Employee Cards, also known as “Supplementary Cards”, allow you to share the benefits of your American Express Card with others close to you. You will be the main Cardmember and you will be liable for all charges made on the Supplementary Card(s). Supplementary Cardmembers must be aged 18 or over. Written details available on request. Approval subject to status and Terms and Conditions.

Business Gold Cardmembers will receive a bonus of 3,000 Membership Rewards® points, and Platinum Cardmembers will receive a bonus of 5,000 Membership Rewards® points, for each Supplementary Card added to your Account.

This offer is valid for the first three Supplementary Cards in which you apply for only, from 1 April 2024.

In some circumstances it may take up to 90 days after a Supplementary Card is added to your Account, for the Membership Rewards® points to be applied. This offer is subject to change and may be withdrawn at any time. At its discretion, American Express may choose to reverse Membership Rewards points where Supplementary Cards have been added with no spend in the following 90 days”

    There you go.

Go to the bank website and apply for the card you want.

Will there be any issues transferring the points? Anything I should be aware of?

Apart from thrashing the site , yes it is possible
Of course if you have a
    – US residential address
    – SSN
    – US bank account
    — US credit high enough to get approved.

Pay attention if your BA account address does not
Match to your US account address there would be trouble transferring the miles.

I’ve got all of the above, what’s the best way to go about this?

I’ve applied and been approved for a business card of a company I’m not director neither shareholder, just needed a signature of the director on a company letter head paper authorising me to have it.

Add it to your account, you’ll only see the transactions you make and won’t be able to make payments.

I’m a additional (gold) cardholder to the platinum, do I need to use this specific card to be entitled to the travel insurance or is any of the cards in my amex account good enough?

    Anyone?

I believe you would be covered but recommend that you read the policy yourself https://www.americanexpress.com/content/dam/amex/en-gb/benefits/UK-Platinum-insurance-documentation-May-2023.pdf

    Thanks.

I think only Platinum cardholders and supplementary Platinum cardholders get the travel insurance benefit. I don’t think supplementary Gold cardholders do…

I believe it does, see this article https://www.headforpoints.com/2021/01/11/american-express-supplementary-card-benefits/

“If a Platinum Cardmembers issues a complimentary Gold or Green Additional Card – you can issue five in total but only one can be Platinum – it will come with the travel insurance benefit but not the other benefits listed above.”

Had the same issue, had a chat with an agent and this what the agent wrote “I am looking at your account and I see you have a remaining statement balance of £231.50. You don’t have to worry about this, the online account is designed in such a way that it considers actual bank payments as payments. It does not consider any refund as payment.”

You can earn 25,000 Membership Rewards® points if you spend £1,000 within the following 3 months from enrolment. This is on top of the points you already earn. You don’t need to take any action, if you accept this offer I will enrol you now

Just got this, had the card for 9 month now
