I’ve also been in this boat – for months now with no resolution. Have repeatedly called Qatar but the agent always says the same thing: don’t know why it’s restricted, will need to refer it to someone, someone will get in touch. But no one ever does.
I’ve heard anecdotally of others this has happened to (all seemingly after linking their BAEC accounts). One poster on this forum said their account unlocked automatically but mine never has! It’s very frustrating!

Thanks both – I get that taxes and fees are supposed to be paid with the original card (and mine have been). I was thinking my situation was similar to that mentioned by NorthernLass – the card was cancelled long after the ticket was booked and paid for. So where you need to make a change after you no longer have the specific card (such as where a card naturally expires) I would have thought there must have been a way to pay the change fee with a new card.

I had an issue adding people to my household account and was told that BA’s systems don’t work properly with certain types of web browser e.g. Safari. I’m not sure if you’re experiencing the same problem, but when I tried again with a different browser (I think Chrome) the issue resolved itself for me.

I did wonder about that, but I just got a quote from united.com from DUB in sterling, so the only way they could work it out is by dissecting the trip details that are always carried through to the credit card provider. Was wondering if anyone had any past successes which would give me confidence to give it a go…
I had a credit posted for a non-U.K. departing flight when they ran the offer during the summer. The United page I booked on was also in sterling. Credit posted within a week or two I think.

@smitrax did you resolve this issue? The same thing has happened to me and despite repeated attempts to contact Qatar my account is still restricted!
