Having just come back from Oslo, I can confirm unlike Stockholm, that they are strict in only allowing Nordic issued cards to use the Fastt Track and the Lounge.

You will probably find that this is restricted to Nordic issued Platinum cards – same that the various Mastercard airport lounges around Europe are only for local cardholders (and indeed how benefits like Eurostar lounge access are also for UK / French / Belgian Plats).
Surprisingly Stockholm (ARN) fast track isn’t restricted. I was able to go through without issue last May. The restaurant-style AMEX lounge at the airport is second to none too.
Can also confirm having no issues at ARN yesterday and the ‘lounge’ is very good. The bus transfer also easy to T2 if flying with BA.

From my recent stays (Nov 2023) I enjoyed both my stays at Bankside and The Westminster. If you can get lounge access and really want a pool, go for Bankside. Otherwise, I preferred the room design of The Westminster.

I stayed at Crockfords in Aug 2022 on a FHR. My HH benefits stacked with FHR. Not sure I’d return though; they’ve restricted the use of Crockfords lobby to suites guests only. Anyone booking a room at Crockfords instead has their cab directed to the Conrad lobby, where a Crockfords guest rooms reception desk is located.
FYI I was upgraded to a large suite with stunning views (floor 61 I think) and a bathroom that was like a cathedral of marble.
Interesting… thanks for the heads up. First time in Vegas, staying for four nights doing 2 x Palazzo and at the moment 2 x Crockfords.

I stayed one night in the Doubletree in Old Town during a stop over this January. The surrounding area is nothing to write home about, but is near the airport. I got upgraded to a ‘King Studio’ and it was very large (got upgraded for being Diamond). I think the main area of interest in the Old Town is the souk, otherwise, it seems like all the ‘action’ are in the new parts of the city.
Thanks, when you say new parts which ones are you referring to? I see lots of hotels around West Bay, this seems to be the more luxurious part.
Hi JayJay, sorry, yes I meant West Bay.
Also for a short stopover, I recommend the Hyatt Regency by the old airport.

Regarding the Apple offer ‘Save to Card to get a £80 statement credit when you make one or more transactions up to £800+ online at Apple – iPhone by 31/8/2023’
Does this work on non-iphone purchases (ipads, MacBooks etc)?

MY father has the card and as a family we all use the perks from it.
The biggest issue recently has been the Concierge service has been very hit and miss and how seemingly it is impossible to get into any of the events.

It looks like we finally have lift off! I’ve been able to add it to curve and Paypal and actually do some online transactions.
The only thing now is the Avios and offer ‘tracking’ isn’t working on the app.

Glad to know i’m not the only person having these issues!
Strangely if you need to pay your TV licence, it works on that website fine!

I’ve tried to link the card to curve and it still won’t work. I’m guessing it is to do with the 3DS issue most people are having at the moment.

Random question, does anyone know of a broadband provider that allows payment by card? I know Vodafone does, but looking to move away from them.

Oh interesting. I don’t mind collecting points still as I mainly use hotels.com for accommodation.

A question regarding the Amex cashback cards, does holding one mean it voids a ‘2-year’ break for bonus points offers?

Have many people had issues downgrading from World Elite to the free card? When I spoke to HSBC the other day it seemed like a real mess to try and do this!
