Thanks @Richie and @BA Flyer IHG Stayer

I’ve managed this using “custom trip” but it only allows searches using the three letter airport code (seems strange). It works for BHX and EDI and HLA and NCL but doesn’t work for LTN or BRS. So I can book for central London but nowhere else!

I can search “anywhere” on Avios including the hotel I want to stay in at Aylesbury (I’m IHG Platinum, I think the stay won’t count but they MIGHT acknowledge status?)

I might try phoning… I want to “stack” flights with 5 nights stay and hotels to get double TP. But then I lose my stays with IHG/HH so is it worth it? Probably not…..

Plus if J book via Avios I get Avios in the hotel cost, the stay “counts” and I get status recognition.

    Hmmm….

Does stays count if booked via Emyr?!?

I’m flying from NCL to LHR and doing 5 nights hotel to get double TP. It’s fine for London, but the software won’t let me book outside of London.

On the rewards site of BA (this was acquired by IAG loyalty earlier this year) you can book hotels EVERYWHERE.

Is this an OG glitch that I can phone uk and book, or is this BA trying to STOP double TO on holiday that include hotels in the UK?

    Cheers

It gives you Platinum Status with IHG, contrary to a comment above. I joined for that and gig my monies worth from multiple cheap stays with free drink or points in every stay, plus multiple upgrades.

I’ve just booked my free night. £439 worth. I COULD have bought the room for two nights for £370 pn so the free night paid for itself and I got loads of benefits from Platinum. I’ll pay for it with points which if I manage the same next year will be c £500 of hotel for 40000 points. 👍

Yes, you can basically take what they offer (or what you can negotiate) or have a full refund. This is another one which needs a pinned topic, I’ve answered this same question about 3 times in the past week!

    Thanks,

I tried to look through the forums to find this, and struggled my apologies.
