HfP StaffI’ve just gone through and approved a bunch of posts.
I think we will end up tweaking the software so that the spam filter is off in the forums
4th January 2022 at 12:37 in reply to: British Airways cancels Bangkok until October 2022Rhys
HfP StaffI just spoke to BA and it seems the only policy they have in place currently is for rebooking onto Qatar, up to the end of March. Finnair was a previous policy, it seems.
Clearly with the route cancelled until October this will need to be updated for the following months but as it currently stands I am told it is Qatar only.
Rhys
HfP StaffIt shouldn’t be any different to desktop or iPhone, and when I use dev mode it appears to be fine. Would need a screenshot really.
4th January 2022 at 11:45 in reply to: BA cancelled BKK to LHR April 2022 – any rerouting experience?Rhys
HfP StaffFinnair should be possible too. We have a thread about this: https://www.headforpoints.com/forums/topic/ba-cancelled-bangkok-until-october/
Rhys
HfP StaffThanks – might possibly be a caching issue.
3rd January 2022 at 13:19 in reply to: What is a good British Airways Club World price to New York?Rhys
HfP StaffPrices tend to bottom out at around £1,100/£1,200 during sales.
Rhys
HfP StaffJust 2 nights, but I have Wednesday off. Staying at the Park Hyatt so looking forward to making the most of the Spa there too.

Rhys
HfP StaffI have found the cheapest deals by going via the Hilton car rental portal. Got me the cheapest rates in the US and Santorini, oddly.
Rhys
HfP StaffHow about nip inland to Sequoia NP?
Having been to both, I think the Redwoods parks are much more interesting. Sequoia is very similar to Yosemite in terms of terrain/features (apart from massive trees of course).
23rd December 2021 at 09:33 in reply to: Best ways to redeem Virgin Atlantic Flying Club points / Virgin PointsRhys
HfP StaffRedeeming on ANA, especially now that they have the pretty astonishing new business and first class seats, is typically a sweet spot. Although the struggle is finding the availability.
Rhys
HfP StaffEarly suggestions seem to be that South Africa may already have peaked in terms of Omicron cases.
Either way though your parents will have to decide for themselves whether it is worth the risk – strangers on an internet forum aren’t going to be able to answer that for you! Assuming everyone is boostered the change of getting covid is small but it is not nil.

HfP StaffThailand announced today they are Studie Ding Test & Go. Next review is early January.
Rhys
HfP StaffTry selecting the options to make a new booking and see what happens.
21st December 2021 at 14:23 in reply to: Hyatt: Spend £250 or more, get £100 back – prepay future stay?Rhys
HfP StaffOnline payments via Hyatt.com probably aren’t, but you can probably pay in advance directly to the hotel over the phone?
Rhys
HfP StaffWeird – although the spam filter has been overzealous again at the weekend
We thought about it, but decided not to atm.
19th December 2021 at 09:15 in reply to: The thread for discussing The Centurion Card from American ExpressRhys
HfP StaffIf anyone’s interested we did do an overview of the UK Centurion card here.
17th December 2021 at 12:28 in reply to: British Airways cancels Bangkok until October 2022Rhys
HfP StaffI don’t think BA have announced a return to KL yet!
Rhys
HfP StaffThat means you’ve gone the wrong way about site design. All websites should be designed primarily for mobile nowadays.
No, it just means that mobile is extremely constraining. It is very hard to be creative on mobile because you simply don’t have the space. For example, menus on mobile become hamburger menus – you lose a lot of discoverability that way.
17th December 2021 at 11:24 in reply to: Going to be in USA for 6 weeks – best SIM so can use phone out there?Rhys
HfP StaffThere are a few different virtual mobile networks that might do a cheapish short term deal. Cricket is one of the bigger ones I believe.
Rhys
HfP StaffI’m afraid not – IHG seems to add them in drips and drabs.
Rhys
HfP StaffI can HIGHLY recommend Santorini Sky: https://santorinisky.com/ (I know the owner – he used to work for Virgin.)
The problem with Santorini is that if you want to stay in the scenic towns with white clifftop houses like Oia you will be staying on top of all the other tourists. Your hot tub will be within arm’s reach of your neighbour’s.
Santorini Sky is 5 mins drive from Pyrgos up the mountain. It has absolutely phenomenal villas with private hot tubs and stunning sunset views across the island (literally the best on the entire island). You’ll need a car but you’re out of the way, away from the crowded masses and can dip into the other places as and when you prefer.
If you have a teenager I would stay in a Panoramic Villa – should have a sofa bed – and an extra pool (rather than just hot tub)
They’ve now also joined Mr & Mrs Smith: https://www.mrandmrssmith.com/luxury-hotels/santorini-sky

HfP StaffMobile is a real issue for us – it massively reduces the amount of screen real estate and consequently the discoverability of the site.
16th December 2021 at 15:29 in reply to: When will Book With Confidence be extended?Rhys
HfP StaffI wouldn’t bet on it being extended, to be honest.
